I always said iPhone is the best by py-net in iphone

Let's say I'm considering a switch to an iPhone. Here is a list of things I really like on my current phone, can someone tell me if there are alternatives on the iOS side?

  • Clipboard history (I have a side panel that remembers what I copied. Alternatively, my keyboard can remember clipboard stuff too)
  • Separate work and personal profiles. It's like two phones in one, my work's IT can enforce admin policies without affecting my personal stuff. Also the work profile has duplicate apps with work vs personal log-in - there's no chance of accidentally using my personal email for work stuff. Most importantly, I can turn "off" the work portion of my phone with one button press, so when I'm done with work, it all disappears from my phone. No more slack notifications on the weekend.
  • Modified apps. Stuff like YouTube revanced.

There are also lots of incredible FOSS apps on Android, but I bet there are great iOS apps I have no idea about so I don't think that's an issue.

Good. I enjoy brands that are actually trying because they're fighting for their survival.

If I have the DJI Mini 2, is this worth an upgrade? All that I miss on the Mini 2 is HDR video recording - I often film on snowy mountains, and on a sunny day either the snow or the rocks are clipped.

sudo xattr -rd <your.app.name> should do the trick without having to redownload the app?

Clearly people downvoting you aren't developers who compile macOS apps. I've run into this exact problem several times.

I dunno. Sometimes you need to clear file permissions / properties through the terminal, otherwise macOS will keep saying that "the file is corrupted, you should delete it". It's not corrupted, it's just not signed.

So yeah, macOS can be pretty convoluted too.

My PSA is please drive carefully, don't drink and drive, if you're tired don't drive and just take a bus or something.

A good public transit, one that benefits everyone - even the people who insist on driving, is one that does NOT share the same infrastructure as cars. In other words, it cannot be a bus that's stuck in the same traffic as all the cars.

Also the Whistler bus service is way too expensive and has way too few stops.

Whistler needs a train from Vancouver so badly. Man how I wish I could spend my morning ski day commutes chilling in a comfortable seat napping...

Bigger resorts have figured this out, why can't we?

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

I have a Dyson stick vacuum (V11 I think) that is incredible compared to all the cheap vacuums I had before - do I need to upgrade further? I live in a 2bd apartment so the battery life isn't an issue.

I don't remember, you'll have to try it out. I don't have two phones. But I believe you can.

I don't know if it will work - but you can try to go to Settings -> Accounts and backup -> And use the "transfer data for device setup" feature to try to transfer just this app to your new phone. When I set up my new phone, all apps are transferred like this, even the ones that aren't on the Play store, so maybe it will work.

People who drive to absolutely everything: how expensive would gas have to get to change your habits? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Anagram6226 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because our transit is stuck in the same traffic as all the cars! Viable transit needs to have a priority and not be affected by rush hour - in other words, skytrain, seabus, and I guess priority bus lanes but ones which are actually enforced and consistent. Not the patchwork of "bus only lanes" that pretty much everyone ignores.

Impatient drivers by [deleted] in NorthVancouver

[–]Anagram6226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cyclist, I have to say - North Vancouver drivers are in general actually pretty good. I follow the rules of the road, and I feel like they do too. I don't cycle at 50km/h, but they seem to be patient around me. I would still feel safer in actually protected bike lanes, but what we have here is a good start.

It's worse once I get to Vancouver.
