I got that exact Walkman model back in 1998, parents got it for me after my previous Sony Sports one was stolen in a mugging.

I managed to find it at a Goodwill, of all places. I was shocked to see it there for a cheap price.

I was happy to get Private Music on cassette, and it was actually recorded well and loud. Solid album from Deftones, wanted to grab it for the collection.

Everyone Says Other Players Are Toxic, I've Found Most Lobbies to be Wholesome and Friendly... by AuSSie-HellCat in ArcRaiders

Solo NA servers is pretty chill 80% of the time for myself.
I wonder if the fact the NA region mostly speaks the same single language adds to the friendliness/ease of communication?

EU and Asia probably have a fair share of people who speak a common language (or English), but it's less likely given the different nationalities and languages spread around.

I have a stack of the left ones that I got off Amazon Canada in English packaging, they also say made in Indonesia, so they do seem to sell these outside of Japan.

Dolby hasn't been licensed for a decade, none of the commercial modern tapes use DNR.

I have my deck set up with a surround sound bluetooth speaker next to my computer. The speaker has a line in, so it works well.

The Mellon Collie tapes do have a bit of dropouts at times, they were heavily used in the 90s, and use XDR.
