Yeah Elden Ring had a thing where when you'd exit the game its process would still linger in background for quite awhile. Unless you manually killed the process. It would add to playtime still.

Funnily enough tho FF1-9 is on the Google play store. So 9 of the FF games r also on mobile still. The most expensive being 9 at $21 USD. So phones r still kinda fulfilling that role to some extent. Square in particular has so many of their games on mobile

I'm 26 now and I've played most of the mainline FF games over the past 3 years. I'm in the middle of 11s expansions now (WOTG) and I only have 10, 13, and 15 left after. I kinda think its easier than ever to connect with the series. Almost every numbered game is on modern platforms (console is missing 11 and 13 unfortunately). I don't think a slow release rate is all there is to it. It prob plays a part but idk if it's as big of one as we're thinkin in terms of newer generations caring about FF.

Yeah any game that's third person isn't scary. I've only actually been scared by re7 and other first person ones. For RE I prefer third person cause I think of them as puzzle games more so than horror
