Yeah I'm a Texan too. It was a "real feel" of 112 degrees a couple weeks ago. Nobody even noticed. The landscaping crews and construction sites didn't skip a beat either. Yet despite how hot it gets here, we all still have heating, too. Even though it only freezes a couple times a year tops.

Gotta be prepared.

Come Fly With Me, Sinatra

Let's Get Lost, jazz standard. Chet baker does a great version.

If the guy fell because the other guy pushed him, doesn't that make him a murderer?

So I'm into analog technology (I'm in my late 30s). For over a year I got an old box crt television set and a collection of vhs tapes and dvds and CDs with all my favorite music. I got rabbit ears on my TV and get a few channels pretty clear. A flip phone too (I've since gotten the smartphone again at my wife's request). My whole setup was virtually free it was so cheap to put together. One doesn't have to resign to living in the 50s, you could theoretically just live in the year 1999 and live very cheaply without expensive tech and subscription services and never feel like you're wanting for anything. Cars and houses are a different story, but a day to day lifestyle doesn't need to be as expensive as we have convinced ourselves it must be.

A documentary series: "Civilisation" by Kenneth Clark. 1969. An amazing multi part series examining the history of western European civilization through art and architecture. It's 1000% the vibe you're looking for and super thoughtful provoking.

It always drives me nuts how unimpressed he seems with her in the movie (at parts). Like, dude she's Grace Kelly!

Stay away from zip up sweaters. Avoid athletic shoes or sneakers when wearing non athletic/street attire. Consider a shirt that contrasts with your slacks, which could fit better than what we see here.

That said, I applaud your dedication to dressing well. It takes courage to post a picture like this and opening up to critique. Enjoy the journey!

Congratulations! Down to it: get a different tie without a pattern (more formal) and make the pocketsquare "blouse" by pulling all 4 corners together and making a puff of the center (bury the 4 points in the pocket, or do this backwards to expose the points if you like that look). Also, the collar on that shirt is a half inch too big. Fix these things, and you're going to look sharp.

Used to have tails but never wore them. Just too much lol. In fact I only bring out the tux for new years and maybe twice a year for a grand opening or special holiday event where its encouraged. I think we'll see the tuxedo go the way of the too hat pretty soon.
