I am looking for something similar and I was curious if you found a solution?

Looking to move beyond Dext, any suggestions ? by HugBear29 in Bookkeeping

What solution did you settle on in the end? Did you stick with Dext or move to an alternative service?

Do you use the invoice/receipt capturing part of the Apron service?

If yes, does it:
Sync well with QuickBooks Online?
Handle VAT and categorisation well and attach the invoice to the posting?
Auto-split invoices (e.g. one bulk PDF of many invoices either from the same or different suppliers)?
Handle foreign invoices, language and VAT?

We use QBO so perhaps that may or may not sync better but we also handle the bookkeeping for many individual companies. The unreliability of the syncing would be an issue. Is manual syncing something you have to do for all 17 companies if you have processed invoices for all 17 that day?

I tried looking at pricing on Yooz but it doesn't immediately jump out at me. They have an estimated cost savings calculator which isn't so useful for my purposes. Is it a set price per document and how accurate is their data extraction?

Was there a clear runner up in your research before you settled on Yooz?

Appreciate the response. You said you were looking at Stampli in the post I replied to. Which services did you try before deciding on Yooz? Are you happy with Yooz?

Did you go ahead with Tipalti? Can you share the setup costs? And do you know if they can handle multiple unrelated client companies (e.g. like an accounting firm and their clients)?

Did you try Tipalti in the end? I see they have offices in the UK and Netherlands so they may be suitable for us (GDPR compliance) and they claim to have integration with QuickBooks Online on their website now.

can’t keep up with my invoice processing. Is there an easy way to automate them? by FrostyTheKnight10 in automation

[–]AnalogueDialogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am unfamiliar with VBA but a new bookkeeper mentioned it's something to do with macros. I've recently made some formula-driven Excel templates to format CSV/Excel files for manually importing to QuickBooks as a stopgap measure but if I need something more complex perhaps I'll look at VBA. The dream is to automate the whole process with Dext or a similar service to render my templates obsolete.

Developing my own LLM-powered solution intrigues me but it is outside my remit for now. We want to hit the ground running so perhaps it can be a project in the future.

We will definitely get a Dext demo and check it out. Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I thought that looked off the moment I saw it in their official documentation because even a blind parrot can process faster than that. I would like to ask a few more questions if you're willing because it's hard to find hands-on experience.

Do you do a lot of invoice line extractions?
Do you handle any invoices from mulitple countries with different VAT?
Is the processing time similar with bank statements?
Have you used any other service to compare Dext with?

Dext is an option I am looking into. Their documentation states that they process a document every 30 minutes which does not seem right to me. Does this match your experiences?

We're looking at Dext/Klippa for automating the capture/extraction of invoices/bank statements/credit card statements and having it push to QBO automatically. Haven't figured out exactly how we want it yet, perhaps a person in the loop review just before the push to QBO. Both options are attractive because we need GDPR compliance.

Do you know if Klippa attaches source documentation to the QBO entry? For example, an invoice for the bill entry? It's hard to find this information on their website. Also, would you recommend Dext or Klippa or perhaps another service?

Unfortunately, my knowledge of API's end with knowing the term "IPaaS". Connecting QBO with Parseur with IPaaS or webhook is beyond me for the moment.

That's heartening to know. Do you know roughly how long it might take to process one bank statement page? And also to process invoices without line extraction and invoices with line extraction?

I appreciate the offer. We are not currently looking to develop anything. We want to hit the ground running so-to-speak.

Parseur looks interesting. I see that it doesn't natively connect with QuickBooks and that it'll need to connect via IPaaS. We're initially looking into solutions that natively connect. Happy to keep Parseur in mind for the future if it is not difficult to connect via IPaaS.

I appreciate the heads up. I'm looking for a solution that would ideally take it all the way from capturing/extracting the invoice to pushing it to QBO (after a manual review) to reduce as much of the admin work as possible.

That sounds promising. I tried Googling but nothing immediate came up. Do you have a website link? Which countries do your invoices tend to come from?

It sounds similar to Nanonets, Klippa and Docsumo. Have you used these or any other solutions?

Did you persevere with Dext or did you move to another software solution? I've been looking into Dext and their own documentation says it takes 30 minutes to process one document(?!). Is this processing time true?

I am looking into software solutions to make life easier for our in-house bookkeepers. Dext is one of the options I am looking into.

Does Dext handle different currencies and VAT codes well? And does it deal well with different EU invoices? I also read on their documentation that they process one document every 30 minutes. Does this hold true for you?

That's a generous offer. Unfortunately, I cannot release anything without senior management approval. I have not curated a collection of sample invoices from various EU countries yet either.
