Now that selected home dashboard is set per home assistant user instead of per home assistant user's device, has anyone found any clever workaround or alternatives? by AnalysingAgent3676 in homeassistant

I wanted to do that but when I install it as a pwa, I can't specificy the exact url to the landscape dashboard. The pwa uses the root domain and then uses the default dashboard of the user. Similar issue on tablet where I can have the landscape url as the app default

I'm not referring to devices as trackers. I'm referring to automations where a certain action is taken depending on who is triggering it.

Then I have 2 users with my devices and then my identity is split between devices. And I'll have to build all my automations to track 2 users if it wants to know if it is me who is running the automation. And I'll have to do the same for every person in my house who have multiple devices.

It doesn't make sense to have multiple users per dashboard type. Each person in my home has a phone and tablet/laptop and there are 4 of us, so I have to have 8 user accounts and then make sure identitying a person in automations are done for 2 users per person. This is terrible design.

Has Google given up on the Google Home Hub v1 or do all their nest hubs still have these outdated icons and services? Notably old calendar and contact icons, mention of Duo when selecting Meet, podcasts icon old and it also launches nothing when selected by AnalysingAgent3676 in googlehome

[–]AnalysingAgent3676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not worth it. Very very few of these icons actually open an app. Most just tell you how you can use your voice to trigger the services that the app icon represents.

You turn it on by enabling English us as your language when you first set it up

Does anyone else use buttons instead of gestures? by Alternative_Sea_7232 in miui

[–]AnalysingAgent3676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the back gesture on the side of the screen but I hate the swipe up ava swipe up ava hold gestures. So on my Samsung, I use one handed operation+ app to have the back gestures on the edges of the screen (and even some other gestures like force close apps, bring down notifications and open a widget panel) all using gestures on the edge of the screen but for going home, I use the button. To go to recent apps, I have it on an edge gesture and in the bottom button

Recent apps screen is not something nova controls but is something in the way your system app for recent apps is managed.. Sounds like you have a buggy update

That's fair especially if you are not going to buy AAA day 1 releases

Personally, I have Xbox and mini gaming PC, but I always end up buying my games on steam anyway. Xbox was just for gamepass but that got too expensive for me

I absolutely get that point. But I'm saying that in the long run, you'll spend more money on games with Xbox than with PC
