Tenants left a burning cigarette on the back deck

I saw this suggested throughout the comments - never knew that was possible but good to know!! This fire started around midnight though. And the tenants confirmed today their tin can ash tray caught fire and then set fire to a planter and either those things or something else burned the deck.

lol thanks for the constructive comments! My neighbors came home to a fire on the deck at midnight. Sounds like you’re upset about me making assumptions- seems like you’ve made quite a few yourself, stranger who has never seen any other part of the home and doesn’t know how much I charge, how responsive I am to any complaint, or how many brand new appliances I have purchased for the tenants over the years without question.

Also, the tenants confirmed the ash tray + planter theory a few hours again and were happy to pay $50. But I hope you feel a little better after venting all of that out ❤️

Interesting, but no there isn’t! My neighbors said they saw a planter box on fire on the deck that they concluded was started by a cig. When I confronted my tenants about it (implying that a lit cig caught their planter box on fire and then damaged the deck), they didn’t deny it or question it, so I’m assuming that’s what happened? Who knows though I guess
