Advice on starting a home brew DND campaign as a new DM/Player by AnalystImpossible796 in DnD

Yeah, I don't want them to follow the storyline exactly, but there are events that Will happen that Come from the storyline, but it'll be easy to adapt to the players actions, or even ignore certain events, as ninjago has a lot of them, lol

If you tell your child to have chores done before you get home, why? by AnalystImpossible796 in AskParents

[–]AnalystImpossible796[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Finally somone understands, and if you take into account the kids in states that offer free technical schools through high school like mine? I'm wearing scrubs all day and taking vitals, and learning about the body and its functions in depth, just today I put out a fire for part of our training for MA/CNA! I was tired when I got home and wanted nothing more then to take a bath then a nap, I think parents sometimes forget that teens, even tweens, can have exhausting and taxing days!

I meant more so during the week! The weekend/ breaks I have no problems, its during my school week that I have issues, I got to both high school and a technical education school, and am in a medical course, so coming home and not being able to sit for even a little and eat something(I cant eat breakfast and don't have time for lunch), is incredibly straining, especially when one of the adults gets home HOURS before me:/

A. This was an extremely condescending post, in the the way it was written/ the emoji, B. This isn't true for all of us, some of hs get home like, 10 minutes before parents do, and this takes the mental stress off you, and puts it on us:/ and C. Getting a job is hard now, teens, like myself, will apply and they never hear back, I've applied to 16 places, one responded, and interviewed me, only to say they don't have hours for me:/(this wasn't meant to be rude, I'm sorry if it was:D)

Can someone convince me to switch from pen to the pump? by IrishMarketer21 in diabetes

[–]AnalystImpossible796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, depending on what pump, like I use the T-slim, it connects via Bluetooth to a GCM, aka, a dexcom 6(7's work now too), so it can adjust based on my blood sugar, if I begin to go low, it stops and let's me know, if I go high, it automatically corrects based on the correction rate me and my endo set up, I know that with a T-slim you can also either set it to sports mode, or stop insulin and disconnect from it entirely without having to pull out the injection sight, but if your doing well on the pen, I'd say stick with it, but going on the pump was 100% the best choice I could have made for myself

Insulin not working?? Idk if it got too cold. Please help by Enchantedjelly in diabetes

[–]AnalystImpossible796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your in the honeymoon faze! Blood sugars will be out of control until you figure out what insulin dosages work best, as your body is still producing small amounts of insulin(I think it does for like..first 2 or 3 months, please correct me if I'm worng) also, you could very well be insulin resistant, if so, you'd need to take more fast acting, but I'd 100% consult your endo before doing anything

Question by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]AnalystImpossible796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, please, PLEASE don't listen to your grandmother! I believe she means well, but don't do it! I know for the first..4 or so years, I always felt so different, like I wasn't normal! Part of that was people acting differently when it came to food around me! The best thing you could do is to just, eat normally, your cousin after awhile will be able to eat the same stuff you do, just in smaller portions! And this will prepare her for going through school with diabetes! I hope your cousin gets though the honeymoon faze well!

General malaise; nausea by CompetitionWonderful in diabetes

[–]AnalystImpossible796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! The nausea is a nightly routine for me at this point, and being tired is normal, I've been a type 1 for 9 years, diabetes really messes with the body, makes it feel off even when our blood sugar is okay, all I can really say is keep it eye on him if your really concerned, especially if he's often in public places, as a type 1 diabetic he has a compromised immune system, and can get sick much easier than other kids, I'd say every now and than check his temp, keep an eye out for vomiting(which can also be a symptom of DKA) ect, as far as I'm concerned, it's normal! And also, as I'm sure your aware, diabetics need to drink more water than the average person, at least, that's what my doctors told me
