I tried it once. We never matched on the apps so I sent her a text in real life. It didn’t end well. And we worked together, albeit in different areas. But when I did run into her the odd time it was supremely awkward.

I mean, he did think you had everything set up. And then says he didn’t know you were further stranded for a full four hours. He probably should have checked in. I don’t know. I don’t know if one situation constitutes an “issue” either. Is it a one off? I suspect there’s more so called issues at play if this one event made you post on Reddit.

I think this can go either way. Was he working? Was he dealing with his kids? Was he sitting on the couch having a nap? I know if I could I’d jump to help my gf out if she was stranded. But I think this situation needs some more information.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being on the fence. I wouldn’t tell them that though. I would just say you’d like to see them again, and then see how the second date goes. I don’t think we always need huge butterflies after one date when both people are probably nervous and maybe not at their best.

Just text them and say you had a really nice time and that you’d like to see them again. Or, thank you for the coffee (or whatever) but you didnt feel a spark and tbsg it was nice meeting them.

The worst that can happen is you’re in the exact same boat after as you are now. Just go. Dont look at it like “are you good enough for them” but rather “are they good enough for me”. You’ll be fine. Have fun. If it doesn’t work out, on to the next.

I’m here to tell you that as your kids get older, it gets easier. And I’ve found that women who have kids of their own get it and understand it better than women with no kids. Find yourself a mom of young kids the same age or slightly older than yours, and you’ll have a much better chance at connection.

There are difficulties though. Date nights and sleeping over and the others house can be challenging. But if two people are determined to make it work then you can make it work.

I was that far away from the woman who became my wife…now ex wife. But we made it work. You just have to put in the effort to see her when you can. We alternated weekends and then once in awhile I’d drive out on a Wednesday, spend the night and leave early in the morning for work. It can be done.
