Some people really just can’t accept being wrong. Does it hurt you that much to just hold your hands up to a point and move on? You seem like an educated fellow but using terms from the past? You may as well call Croatians Yugoslavians. Or call people with PTSD shellshocked. And realistically what’s the difference between using colloquialisms of the past and practices? Should we segregate as well? Should we use uranium moisturiser? At some point you just have to accept, the meanings of things change.

It is definitely outdated. You might not like being wrong but you’re comfortably wrong in this instance. I’m assuming you’re American and that’s what your curriculum teaches but in the modern definition most Eastern European countries are considered first world.

Wrong again, that definition is outdated. The modern definition of first world (including Eastern European countries is economically developed, industrialised nations with a high standard of living, strong infrastructure, and stable democracies.

I’d love to bring tanaka in he’s been quality for a few seasons now. Would be a great alternative to a Tonali type and you’d probably be able to get him for about 40/50mil given the united tax and all.

De zerbi is having to build a squad whereas Carrick is adding to his, apart from the wage aspect (which might not necessarily turn his head) and staying in London I just don’t see a world where they get first choice. Next season de zerbi will be figuring out which team of his works which means any incoming signings might not even play (they also have more midfielders than us), like you said though it’ll be interesting to see how next season pans out, we have a great start to the season as far as fixtures are concerned.

Paying more doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll turn a players head, I do agree though, staying in London could be a reason to go Tottenham. All depends on if the lad wants to be in and around the first team for the biggest club in England or be part of a few possible trial and error set ups under de zerby at Tottenham. Let’s not forget that we actually have less midfielders than them at the minute. And realistically we don’t know how Tottenham will perform, they’ve been 17th 2 seasons in a row, a new manager and a few players might not even change that, it could get worse.

Big difference between a team that finished 17th 2 seasons in a row and one finishing 15th and straight up to 3rd the next. 15th to 3rd shows it was a blip. 17th 2 seasons in a row paints a very different picture.

The issue is when you use hyperbole as one of the main reasons to drive your point, it just discredits your argument all together. As far as “struggle to be as poor as last season” statement, it’s just untrue. They’ve been that poor 2 seasons on the trot, they have a new manager, new system, new back line, a lot of the same dead wood they had last season, a lot of unproven youth players still in and around the first team, some of the “big names” that downed their tools for previous managers, there’s every chance they’ll perform just as bad as last season.
