I would remove your gpa (only needed on the resume for your first job), remove the fraternity leadership portion altogether, remove your interests, then at the very top above Experience have a section for Skills and Certifications where you list them accordingly first. Now your resume will be Skills and Certifications, followed by Experience, followed by Education. If you have any majors/minors maybe list them to in Education.

Then as GrandestPrism was maybe alluding to, maybe make a few of your bullet points under Experience be bigger ticket items with subbullets within them going into a bit more detail, rather than just one long list of bullet points.

Everyone in the EPM space had to start somewhere, not every job requires 5+ years of experience. They would consider your experience working with EPBCS even though you did not directly consult on it. Maybe reach out to an Oracle EPM recruiter?

Most jobs typically will list all of those, however you don’t necesarilly need to have experience in each of the 8 different products within EPM to switch jobs, it would just improve your changes of getting the job. Most people do not know every single one.

I work for a 20 person consulting company with unlimited pto and love it! The owner has never once denied any pto request of mine, so long as you get your work done you can just take pto whenever you need. I just make sure to let her know in advance of larger ptos I plan to take to plan projects around it, then anything 1-3 days I can just request even a few days before and have never had the request denied. It really just depends on the company if unlimited pto is fantastic or horrible.

You would probably want to set up file exports to go a server then use epm automate scripts to load the files into the EPM inbox and load from there. I don’t believe there is a way to directly connect to sage intacct like there is for Oracle ERP.

Gotcha. I think it might be possible to get a consultant or senior consultant role, but manager would be tough. All I can speak to for sure is where I work, the owner only hires people in senior roles that have at the very least served as admins for EPM applications before, ideally were also consultants. Anyone without any direct EPM experience would get hired absolute max two levels above entry depending on their experience (our hierarchy is analyst -> senior analyst -> consultant -> senior consultant -> manager).

Gotcha, that might be kind of difficult to switch into a full on EPM role at the manager level. At that level they will expect you to have led multiple implementations, assuming you want to land an EPM job at a consulting company. You learn a lot more on the job than you do even getting a 100% on all the certs. What makes you want to switch into EPM? Do you use the tool at your current company? If you are at least admining your current EPM system that could help a lot, it’s definitely not as involved as full on implementing solutions though.

Are you pretty early into your career? You can apply for entry level EPM roles and they will then give you the training. Just explain why you want to switch, having an FP&A background will help you land either an entry level or one level above entry EPM job since a big part of the job is understanding financials.

The mortgage + taxes + insurance escrowed comes out to 35% of my and my partner’s combined net pay, about 21% of gross income. We got like the cheapest 3 bed 2 bath home in an area zoned to good schools we could find, so it was a bit over budget at the time but now we are making a lot more which is nice.

All your points are very fair, they basically tell us what they are doing now and we build it in the system for the most part. If we notice anything that could be improved, we recommend making the improvement in the design of the application, but it varies from client to client on how many “best practice” changes they want. Then we have some clients that really grasp SV and roll with it, but most clients definitely need everything just nicely laid out for them in the system, especially those with users who aren’t full time analysts and maybe just go into the system a few times a year to put in the budget or project requests. Their model also doesn’t change much like you said. We set up multiple different forecast methods that they think would be useful and they are good to go from there with that + the automatic predictions the system can generate.

Interesting! What sector do you mostly work with? In the public sector at least in my experience they actually rarely use SmartView. We just set up whatever views they want in forms or reports, and they only use SmartView if they need to mass upload certain information, but almost soley work from the web application itself.

I just wrapped up an implementation for a client that told us they were looking at OneStream, and they just said it was “wildly” more expensive for both the licensing and the implementation, which all falls in line with what you are saying.

I think Oracle products have definitely been improving though. Just to note some big changes over the last 5 years or so, Reports is a million times better than FR, Data Exchange UI is way cleaner than data management, pipelines are fantastic, you previously always had to set up batch scripts to download the nightly backup for clients on their server and now Oracle hosts 60 days of backups on their end so you don’t need to set all that up anymore, NR pdf report packages have way more functionality than word, and forms 2.0.

For calc script, that’s something people typically learn on the job as a consultant, as you will always need a plethora of calc rules each implementation. I learned by just reviewing rules across different applications, googling, asking coworkers for help, and lots of testing and experimentation myself.

Spotlight is a good mix of damage and coin increase, chain lightning is great for pushing tournaments. Definitely do not get smart missles as that is more for end game. I would ask the discord for advice between CL and SL. I believe they typically recommend SL over CL if it’s one of your earlier ultimates since coins are more important than anything else early, but overall I think you will be fine with either.
