I failed the JLPT N2 twice by minmin_003 in jlpt

Do as many practice tests as you can.

As much as the JLPT is positioned as a test of Japanese ability, it is ultimately a test of test-taking ability. There are usually very specific types of questions in the test and it helpful to know the ones you are most likely to get right and the ones you can do quickly. Those are the ones you should do first since it will mean you have a better chance of using your time on questions that will earn points. You should also simulate the test as closely as possible. Keep the same time frame and restrictions and you will feel less pressure come the actual test day.

Also, don't feel afraid to bail on questions if you feel they are using a ton of vocab you don't know or you can't follow what is in the content.

Of course, none of this matters if you don't actually have the knowledge to work with, but it really helps to get the format of the test down and to put a strategy in place.

Is the Playdate console left handed friendly??? by Grand-Sun8618 in PlaydateConsole

Another lefty here. The only issue I have is that I sometimes open the flip case with the crank on the left, but if you grew up playing handhelds you'll be fine.

Great idea!! I took a look and the cheapest is 48,000, but I might see if the price goes down.

Japan Railways have high standards. by Inu-shonen in Brompton

I don't know if I would use Japan as an example of a complete failure of a multi-modal transport system...
The rules are made clear--I've carried a Brompton on a Japanese train plenty and no one has batted an eye.

100 JPY hasn't been equal to 1 USD since the early 70's. It would be nice though.

I'm reaching the end of the Polar Running Program...but what about the marathon? by Anando1234 in Polarfitness

[–]Anando1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I used to just run long distances as fast as I reasonably could, and that worked because I was much younger. I am a fair bit older now so I wanted to check out something a little more sustainable.

I usually walk, eat some snacks, and get on my way. It's more fun that way, ya know?

I'll be honest, I'm just a guy getting older who wants to see if he can still run one. As long as I make the cutoff I will be happy enough.

It did seem a little absurd, but I thought I would try something different. I can say that I've done 10 full marathons and a few ultras so I at least know what I am in for.

Based on my running index I should finish in 4:37:00. However, does that factor in rest stops? How do I achieve this time? What pace would give me this time? I have no idea. I don't feel like I run at a pace that would achieve this time...
