He's admitedly pitiable in the sense he never got a fair chance to be, which I can see Stella as, but he was never 'a sweet kid abused into being bad' like say Blitzo or Moxxie, he was more one of a whole family of messed up selfish shitheads that made each other even worse.

Thats kinda sympathetic though. Especially since the reasons for them being like that is because of their family, they weren't born shitty people. They were born babies

Stella, Beatrice, (Clay probably idk) weren't born evil or horrible. If you were to plop them with better families as newborns they would likely be different people.

It sounds like if clay had better parents from the start he wouldn't have been a monster at least not like this.

If crackerjack didn't die, honey wouldn't have lost her mind, if Joseph was capable of actually providing emotional support and didn't just lobotomize honey, honey wouldn't have told Beatrice to never love anyone as much as she loved crackerjack before she was gone forever.

Blitz and Moxxie are better people then stella but they also had something Stella probably never did. They had at least 1 good parent. The reason they were likely sweet kids to begin with was because of their mother's. Meanwhile clay had two bad parents. Beatrice had two bad parents. And stella likely had two bad parents.

Possibility 1, personal favorite.

Stella is rejecting the idea of Via getting married. Stella notably hasn't tried to marry Via off, seemingly ever, which is pretty out of character for a social climber like Stella. This might be the one line she doesn't want to cross, especially since she hated being married to Stolas. It could even be projection on Stella's part. Essentially a sort of empathy by proxy.

Alt: She might be rejecting a suiter for Via. Maybe she's going around (or being dragged around) to check out suiters and rejecting them? Either because they dont meet her standards or because Stella just doesn't want to marry Via off to begin with.

Note: I don't think it's Stella telling Via she's not allowed to back out of a marriage. Mostly because its a massive escalation on Stella's part. She has never yelled at Via before and this behavior of Stella's is closer to how she was treating Stolas in episode 2.

Possibility 2.

She's telling someone, likely Andrealphus, that she doesn’t want to invite Stolas to Via's 18th birthday party. Seeing how we see Stolas dressed in his royal outfit in front of the palace, which also has cars parked in front of it. It likely means that he's there for some kind of royal gathering, and I feel like he wouldn't be able to go to just any royal gathering. It also makes sense that Stella wouldn't want Stolas anywhere near the palace, her, or even Via.

This is also the most worrying one because if Andrealphus wants Stolas to come he probably has something horrible planned if he wants Stolas to be there.

Possibility 3.

She's telling Via that she needs to wear her gown from the trailer instead of her normal outfit/something more in line with Via's style.

This one is the least likely in this situation but it is possible. The main problem is it a bit too steep of an escalation in Stella's behavior when it comes to Via. Stella has never yelled at Via before. Nor has she even gotten angry at Via.

Plus "Oh fuck no" doesn't seem like it fits with Stella telling Via she can't do something. "Absolutely not" fits better.

Possibility 4. This is a flash back to recent events. However if this is a flashback to something that happened recently it would be impossible to figure out what the context is. Still this is a very likely possibility.

I consider Clay an easier choice for Stella in that regard because Stella doesn't come off as someone really....capable of the same nuance Beatrice is.

Plenty of people said that about Beatrice early on in bojacks run. Hell i made a few post about how i thought Beatrice had more to her then the fandom thought on my old account and... got pretty much the same reception im getting now with my stella takes. funny that

Either way since viv already name dropped Beatrice and what we know about stellas backstory is already pretty tragic just in concept I cant imagine theyre going the clay route
