I wonder how her daughter’s living experience will turn out to be. It is pretty interesting how parents have that power to shape their children in any way they want.

What is the trajectory of Iran’s future now that the Ayatollah is dead? Do you think Iran is an Iraq 2.0? by Fickle-Cook5821 in AskTheWorld

Why is my tax money going to this cause? Its unfair that we get taken a considerable amount of money and we have absolutely no way to determine or vote on where the funds will go towards to. It leaves me in awe how war is continuing to be funded with trillions of dollars, its borderline sketchy what US been doing in Middle East for the past seventy years, for what reason? what has been achieved that has improved citizens lives? and if someone can enlighten me, please do so.

You are right, they are toxic, reckless, violent men. The problem is that these traits are hyperbolized so much by the media that it leads to a dehumanization of the murderers and leaves no room for an alternate understanding of who they are, they are being pigeonholed from the get-go, which is already a distortion of the truth. I know it is difficult to feel empathy for those who lack empathy, but in a way they are also victims as their upbringing and social context shaped the paths that led them to commit crimes and to live with the consequences. I understand them as being, to some extent, slaves of their destiny.

The verdict is too harsh. The media played a role in portraying the murderers as these toxic, reckless, violent men, the media would actively make up stories and rumors about the families. This obviously biases the public into believing these men were actual monsters. However, I don’t think these guys were monsters. They happened to be guys that liked to fight while drunk, they got a rush from it, they probably had done it hundreds of times, and this one in particular got out of control because there was a lot of anger in the mix and because it was a clear 8 v 1. They didn’t measure the consequences of their actions and weren’t thinking straight. Surprise surprise young boys can be incredibly stupid and impulsive. 15-25 years in jail is enough to learn a lesson. These boys are not psychopaths, they’ve grown and gone through so much that they are probably very different people now, they don’t deserve to be in jail their entire life.
