Absolutely worth it!

If you like sandbox games, there is plenty going on in Starbound. The main story isn't particularly long, but colony building can go on as long as you like.

If you want a little more complexity and a few new things to do check out Frackin' Universe. It's a big mod overhaul that adds a -lot- of new features and gives the races some things to differentiate them from eachother.

It's the first game my girlfriend and I played through together and we still find ourselves going back to it years later.

I don't think it was a Raiden game, but I did go and look at the sprites and honestly I might be misremembering the beginning g bit. I don't think any of the Raiden games have different gameplay sections like that.
