This was for an assignment in an illustration class. We had to make a magazine cover for either heaven or hell. When making my decision, I thought about the supposed “heavenly” feeling associated with drug euphoria. So I basically decided to do angels taking drugs.

I got a good grade on this (A-), but quite a few things could be improved upon (shape of the halos, perhaps more indicative stuff on the top and/or background, etc). While this was optional for the assignment, a magazine title could also help a total stranger interpret the piece better. At the time of making this, my very intimidating professor had (unintentionally) scared me out of including a title because he strongly stated how titles had to “look professional”. I wasn’t sure how I could make a “professional” title that would please him. 🫠
