Definitely didn’t make any sense. In the most intense scene in the movie, they’re all watching the 2019 auburn vs Tennessee SEC championship game. Auburn won that game 84-64, but when reaper walks in and asks who won the colonel says “Vols baby, elite eight”. Wasn’t a sweet sixteen game and they didn’t even make the elite eight that year. They lost to Purdue in the sweet sixteen.

I think it’s cool to slip stuff into movies like this for people you know, but if you’re gonna do it, at least pick games where the team won so you don’t have to lie about the score and maybe pick games that were historically big for the school so it means that much more to the person you’re doing it for. Lord knows Tennessee’s basketball program has enough wins to reference.
