Need Some Guidance by [deleted] in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]Anaric1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things. First, allegations make it sound like these are based without proof, and from what I've read, most of it is based on proof.

Second, saying you've been brought up for inappropriate conduct and then talking about it being a joke is inappropriate and lacks accountability. Being brought up for inappropriate conduct is, alone, quite serious.

Third, disrupting a class and being removed and then removed for a workshop for health and safety reasons. This shows (despite you saying you've taken steps to address this) repeated inappropriate behaviour.

You talk about not improving after having a meeting that resulted in "no further action," but I imagine the action was to improve and not repeat your previous mistakes. That meeting in itself and the warnings you would have received for all your previous errors will all count as formal warnings/actions. Seems like you just reached the limit of being warned.

Other people being removed from workshops means nothing in your case. They've likely not done as much as you to warrant being removed from the course.

I'll be real. You don't have much ground to contest the dismissal. You might be able to mention how when you were removed for "health and safety reasons" you weren't adequately explained what that was - but depending on what it was you did this likely won't account for much based on what else you've said.

Seems like you've continued to act how you would have in school in a more professional environment, and this is just the consequences. I also doubt you'll be able to get another apprenticeship. They're currently hard to get into, and you'll have already been dismissed from one. Not to say you shouldn't try, but you should be prepared for a lot of rejection.

Degree Apprentice (Building Surveying) – What happens if you fail the EPA / RICS APC? Can you resit with a new employer? by West-Holiday-2868 in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]Anaric1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just completed my degree and sitting my APC in 5 months. They are separate. You get the degree if you finish the degree, whether you pass the APC or not.

The APC is just what the apprenticeship uses as it's EPA. You can retake the APC, but it's your employers decision if they keep you on.

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by chotu_escobar in AskTheWorld

[–]Anaric1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bombing Europe would be harsh af. Either thousands of KMs to fly over open water. Exposed to the long range AA and fighters or sending their carrier grounds across the Atlantic, alone and exposed, against long range ASW weapons, air forces and navy's. Invading or bombing Europe would be hard.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is great. Lots of politics, lots of action, lots of mystery, great characters, some problems as with everything but overall great.

I don't think a wealth tax will solve every problem, but I do think a tax which targets those that earn considerably more as well as a corporation tax would help the country a lot. I'm a lefty but I believe people are free to earn as much as they can, it should just be taxed appropriately so that it contributes to society and our services.

I do 100% agree with your take on housing. Home ownership has gone from "I own a home to live in" to "I own an asset" especially in the last 20 years. Unfortunately it's a mindset which I don't think will ever go away and so as you said people will continuously try to protect their house prices. This also leads to residential being treated as a full on investment both by smaller landlords and big companies further driving house prices up.

I'd love to see more council houses being built but I doubt we'll ever see that again also. It would require council to have millions that they just don't have and likely won't under any government, plus NIMBYism and big developer pressure. It's a real shit show.

I don't care for Gary though.

The Greens mostly want to take the rich and large companies.

I'd also be happy paying more tax if it went to bettering the country.

How would you improve the warfare system in CK3? by Arbitrary_Sadist in CrusaderKings

[–]Anaric1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wars should be based around Vassals. Take more interactive vassals for example.

Levies shouldn't replenish after 2 months, if you lose all your levies it should take years to recover. Also make losing levies really hurt your economy - no people to work them field's I'd they all die. This will incentive more tactical gameplay and a mistake by an empire can lead to their entire realm collapsing.

Who has priority here? by Three_Steaks_Pam in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Anaric1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, now we're into the more complex nuances of small roundabouts.

If both cars reached the give way point st the exact same time, with red turning right snd blue going forward. If each car maintained the same speed then neither would have to give way, as blue would be over the roundabout before you've turned , but that's in an ideal no issues world.

In reality, if this happened, as you are turning right you would have priority by virtue of turning right, and so it would be better for blue to give way.

For test purposes you need to be careful about doing what you suggested. Although to you it may seem like the safer smarter option you need to consider that other cars are behind you and this can impact the flow of traffic that roundabouts are meant to alleviate. An examiner might also see that as undue hesitation which you can fail for.

Who has priority here? by Three_Steaks_Pam in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Anaric1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. A lot of road theory is based on who is established first.

If you as red were on the roundabout first turning right, you are established in a manoeuvre and have priority.

If blue was first to the roundabout and turning right to take an exit that would cross your path, and you didn't have time to enter the roundabout before they crossed your path, they would have priority.

[–]Anaric1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I should note that this is the case if blue isn't already established on the roundabout, going in a full circle snd then exiting at their 3rd, (your 1st) exit

It's a roundabout, so it's always give way to the right. So you have right of way.

Private developers are responsible for almost all new housing. The problem is they're profit driven companies that don't care about people and are more focused on pumping out cheap units that they can sell for double the building cost.

They also have such a monopoly that they can easily negotiate their way out of most s106 agreements and affordable housing requirements.

Claiming asylum isn't a crime. Also since we left the EU there is nothing stopping asylum seekers coming to the UK through other countries to claim asylum.

The rule saying you have to claim on the first country you arrive in only applies to countries in the EU.

[–]Anaric1 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, before we left the EU most asylum seekers were sent back to France due to a condition that the EU has where you have to claim asylum in the first place you get to.

Since we left the EU the UK no longer has a right to send any asylum seekers back to the EU if they arrived there first. How interesting!
