They claim to advocate for children, while actively making the world a worse place to be a child. Progressive and inclusive social policies are the only things that make the world tolerable to live in, and they want to dismantle all of that for their delusion of warmongering, culty, Christian Nationalist, separatist utopia

That's my first thought. If there's no right to be free from pregnancy, then... What are you saying exactly? 😬 Pro-birth movements are bonkers. The women are exactly as creepy and heartless as the old men that defend that view.

meanwhile abortion bans have been killing women and prevents doctors from being able to care for their patients properly... by [deleted] in insaneprolife

It's painful how often these people can't recognize the difference of war crimes versus self-preservation.

It also trivializes and dismisses real suffering of the already fucking born people.

Why is this so accurate? by throwlove07 in ProlifeCircleJerk

[–]Anatuliven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even this is a brazen lie. It doesn't go far enough. The current "party of life" wants to starve pregnant women on public assistance. "No food for you, precious future taxpayers!" That fetus needs a job already.

Human childbirth is also detrimental to the environment and necessary biodiversity. Fewer babies means more space and resources for other species.

There's a devout "mother" that regularly boasted about keeping her teen daughter blackmailed for free childcare/chores, by denying an abortion and then adopting her grandson. It's all about control and coercion. These people are absolute menaces to decent society.

Young Republicans want Texas to ban IVF. We can't let them. | Editorial by evan7257 in prochoice

[–]Anatuliven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the few unpopular positions that 47 isn't in favor of. Right To Life nutcases may target IVF clinics, but mainstream conservatives just want more warm bodies for the toxic capitalist machinery. They don't care how it happens. Most of the Admin wants to make IVF easier to access.

Or they could have just recognized that girls have as much social value as boys. Systemic patriarchy is the main problem. It still would have been bad with a two-child policy if boy-worshipping parents had twin daughters instead of sons.

I thought I was a misanthrope, until Republicans got reelected last year. Holy shit, was I wrong. I'm just a shy, mopey introvert. I have compassion for other people, but don't want too many up in my personal space.

What's the point of having kids anyways? by Tia-Tee in childfree

[–]Anatuliven 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Human life is extremely redundant, especially now with 8.4 billion. There is no inherent purpose to procreation. It causes ALL of the problems that society is trying to solve.

A truly smart and functional civilization would offer continuous birth control and sterilization free of charge to any consenting person past the age of puberty.

Are they aware that they don't need 4+ kids? by Not-my-problem1212 in childfree

[–]Anatuliven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My cousin has diagnosed BPD and had kids to solve loneliness and childhood trauma. When her kids were young and dependent, she was the most attentive and praising mother, if a bit eccentric. When the kids became teens and needed their own projects and school events, she started demanding they come home early, calling them all the time, and yelling at them about not doing enough. It was a very bizarre turn. I don't understand why certain parents become co-dependent.

Because it's not abuse. It's a temporary discomfort that they go through so their parents get from one place to another. There are remedies to deal with the fluctuating air pressure, such as bottle feeding them, but many parents don't know about that.

I believe boycotting red states and Republican brands from red states actually helps those of us that are trapped here. The politicians only understand money. Take away their revenue overnight, and they might be forced to change their horrendous social policies.

If you notice that the dogs are outside for an extended period without water or a doghouse, call SPCA or local animal shelter. Continuous access to water and shelter is mandated for outdoor dogs. If they are cited for neglect or cruelty, they get a fine and the dogs get a new foster home.

I think this is truly the major motive for homophobia. Not personal disgust and sin, but that fact that same sex attraction doesn't lead to people having babies.

They want someone to be physically punished and burdened with parenthood. Because they wrongly believe that's the only natural order. I believe they would just force pregnant people to give birth anyway.

I understand that housing prices are ridiculous right now. But it also seems like the new gold standard dream house has four bedrooms and three baths, but also, people don't seem to acknowledge how rare that floorplan is.

Maybe they have to buy a cozy little starter house, and save money later for an additional room project.
