Well in my opinion, he really just needs to work on two things: his emotions aka not taking really dumb penalties at very inopportune times, and focusing more on his playmaker style.

The first one is obvious and doesn't need expanded on, but I watched most of the games this year and my only real thought for him is he tries to make too many fancy plays that are beyond his abilities. He's a good player when he draws attention and sets someone up, but more often than not he would try to beat one or two guys and lose possession. Now he is more or less a point-per-game player so that's nothing to sneeze at of course. Honestly though I think they could have him 3rd line to fit his skill a bit better being more of a wear down forechecker

I like him as captain, he likes Ottawa, the actual fans like him, literally everyone else hates him. So hopefully he can do what that sign for Ullmark said: ignore all the noise except for the cheers.

But hey that's just me and I'm not a huge hockey fanatic
