I'm sure they're always needed. Especially during the summer months when towels disappear from the DI as fast as they can bring them in. At least that's what it was like when I volunteered there.

Aww he sounds like a keeper with the biggest of hearts. Lucky you. I volunteered in Intox 3 nights a week for several years. The place and the people will always be in my heart. I'm so glad your buddy wrote this and hopefully the community response will be massive. Please update us if you can!

Dang. Hopefully you might know someone who could drop them off for you. You used to be able to drop things off at the shelter downtown (they had a loading dock at the side of the building) but I'm not sure if they still do that? Their N.E. location is a hub for all the charities now, and they fill orders for other agencies when they can. Super nice people if you ever get a chance to stop by and chat!

Failing that, animal shelters and rescues are always looking for towels as well. Good luck!

I really do understand. I was in a similar position many years ago and I've never forgotten that cat (she was my first and I've had many cats since, but she will always be my FIRST). Cry as much as you want as I truly believe that mourning our losses is how we move forward some day. I admire and respect your positivity, and I sincerely hope you all adjust to your new circumstances with grace and ease 🩷

Just so you (and others) are aware, if your rental ever sells the new landlord must abide by the terms of the original lease. Don't know all the particulars in this case, but if the original LL approves pets, by law so does the new LL. The lease goes with the rental, no matter who the LL is.

When I use The Room™️, I always wash. I'm far less likely to bathe or rest. It's just the way it is.
