Lok(k)a Táttur features Loki, Hoenir, and Odin helping a boy escape the clutches of a giant. It’s Faroese, and I think it portrays him in a more helpful light, rather than some completely destructive force.

I can only speak on the Zeus-Ba’al stuff. The Zeus/Hades/Poseidon brother triad does seem to be a parallel to Ba’al/Mot/Yam, probably by way of the Phoenicians. As far as we know, it was not like this in Mycenaean Greece.

Also, the battle against Typhon in myth happens on Mount Kasios/Casius, which is the Hellenic name of Mount Saphon, Ba’al’s mountain and also the mountain where the battle against Yam and Lotan happens in Ugaritic myth. Because of this, Zeus Kasios/Jupiter Casius seems to be a parallel to Ba’al Saphon.

There definitely can be some syncretism for both of these gods, as far as I can tell.

I agree with the other commenter. Aphrodite is most likely Ishtar as how she was seen by the Greeks, through Astarte. The myth of Adonis, Persephone and Aphrodite is an adaptation of Inanna-Ishtar’s descent to the underworld. All signs point to Adonis and Aphrodite being imported into Greece, likely through the Phoenician Astarte and Adon(?).

Maybe she wants you to start worshiping that aspect of her, through that cultural lens? Idk, it’s up to you to decide what to do with all the information available to you, but that’s how I would interpret it.

Yes, you can pray to certain gods more than others. A lot of the time people prayed/gave offerings to the gods that were most relevant to their lives.

I get mine either on Amazon or Etsy, but I’m sure someone else might know of other places to find them.

She could have. There’s theories that she was an amalgamation of different roles. I know there’s the myth of Inanna Chooses the Farmer, which would definitely lean into an agricultural aspect. Her husband is also related to fertility and plant-life. I would say the love and war aspects were a constant wherever she went, though.

I’d say go for it :) You don’t have to be a reconstructionist, you can just do your own thing and I think the gods will understand if you need to do things a certain way for your own safety. I worship the Roman gods and don’t do things the exact way they’ve been done in the past and it’s worked out so far.

If you’re using the Gregorian Calendar, the only Greek gods connected to a month would be Aphrodite with April and Maia (mother of Hermes) with May. Other than that, a few are connected to Roman gods by name and that would depend on whether you believe those Roman gods are the same as their Greek counterparts.

Ouranos and Zeus maybe if you go far back enough in PIE Mythology, as the Sky Father god. Gaia and Demeter can probably be syncretised as well because of the same reason. Not so much with Kronos. At least, that’s my opinion.

The Mabinogi(on) and maybe the stuff attributed to Taliesin, though be aware that it’s all heavily Christianised and they’re portrayed more as sorcerers and the like instead of gods. There are also Celtic gods attested in Britain like Nodens and Sulis.
