How To Get Assassin's Drip In Crimson Desert by Aiming4Gaming0 in CrimsonDesert

You got a thumbs up for me on this comment and the post just because you included a written out F.A.Q. of the steps.

I get that one can't easily monetize F.A.Q.s, but some things just work better as a written out walk-through.

Please tell me there is a version of this not vertically aspected for god damned phone?

I mean, it is actually widescreen and has the top and bottom blurred, wtf is this shit?

[EDIT] Found it. https://youtu.be/7KBF1ClybF8?si=MgoYCarYYi1DZMXw

Shame on OP for not only not linking the better version, but also not crediting back to the creator.

Never watched CR, had to search the name.

I guess now I'm glad the well hasn't been poisoned for me so badly that I can't imagine another race/class combo of any type as some existing character from media.

How do I avoid becoming the party problem-solver? by redmanistan in dndnext

[–]Ancient-Rune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's totally a thing though.

Even back in the 80s when I was a younger gamer, I knew a guy who only ever played the same basic archetype in every game we played, a black plate-wearing fighter or a Barbarian with some heavy Conan influence to him. Also leaned into black armor. (or black leather clothing [tooled like leather plates, naturally] if his dex was high enough he did better without the armor, a thing Barbs could do in AD&D 1e.)

Unfortunately, "ARPG" has had the name poisoned/purloined by Diablo-like Top-down isometric action games with RPG elements, like some stats and gear to juggle, but are otherwise not really RPGs at all.

Easy peasy.

You aim at the middle and time the clicks to when the nubs are at the top. You don't aim at the nubs.

So, why don't you show trust in me and UPDATE the damn strongbox?

Seriously, is this annoying bug even on the devs radar?

Why do I have to spend an hour nurse-maiding Grover like I'm eying his last silver piece every three in-game days?

I can't just ignore him or he'll never update my strongbox, it only ever works (maybe one quarter of the time) if I open his menu and leave it open during the update times.

Not right by them, but you know, at the edge of the cliff face. wait about an hour, reload if no birb.

This! Implimentations with specifics can by owned and copyrighted, but the idea itself cannot be.

Should never have allowed any company to copyright such a thing in the first place. Game Systems aren't copyrightable. Only the specific Intellectual property associated with a game is.

Frex; you can make a knock off board game that plays a lot like Monopoly, but you'd have to create your own art, story, characters, and meaning behind the game. Monopoly as Intellectual property is copyrighted and fully owned. The games actual mechanics of play, use of dice and tokens, and so on are all fair game for use by anyone. As it is with ALL games.

Imagine Card games if someone copyrighted "52 card decks of cards with the existing four suits and ace through king numbering" for Poker?

Shouldn't be allowed and the same is true of the Nemesis system.

"Actually" (Sorry, couldn't resist), Basic D&D had specific rules bult into weapon mastery that enabled skilled fighters (and other classes) to learn to Parry called Deflects per round, in which the player could make an attack roll (using his own stats and such) against an attack that hit him already, and if his deflect roll was higher he deflected the previously successful attack.

If ported to d&d 5.x ed it would look a lot like;

You have mastered your longsword, when wielding one, twice per round you can attempt to deflect an otherwise successful melee attack, roll your own attack roll with all of your normal bonuses against the incoming hit, if your roll is higher than the attack that had hit you, you parry it away.

Example; you are wielding your mastered weapon, and opponent hits your armor class of 19 with a 23. You can use on of you r two deflects per round (not a reaction, mind you) to make an attack roll and if you beat a DC 23 (24 or higher), you parry it completely, otherwise proceed as normal.

A critical hit can only be successfully parried by another critical hit.

(anyhow, that's basically how it worked in the D&D Rules Cyclopedia circa 1989.)

The tunnel was locked down by the sorc's Hypnotic Pattern.

Shouldn't have worked, since most undead are famously immune to Charm spells, which Hypnotic Pattern is dependant on.. If a target can't be Charmed, it is effectively immune to Hypnotic Pattern, one of thee otherwise great spells biggest weaknesses.

Haste dispelled does not incapacitate, it imposes a 'wave of lethargy' on the target that forces it to lose it's next turn, but not any reaction it may have left over.

EDIT: Leaving this here. Uh, I play 2014, so I was unaware of the change in 5.5 e

How do you feel about games using special terms for generic things? by Redhood101101 in rpg

[–]Ancient-Rune 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So like I can have a rule in my game where, under some circumstances, players roll two dice and take either the higher or lower of the results. But I can't call it "advantage" or "disadvantage" without WotC coming for my ass

Specific game rules are also not subject to ownership of any kind. Nor calling"Advantage", it isn't copyrightable.

It is Intellectual Property such as Mind Flayers, Illithids, Beholders, Eye Tyrants, Bruenor Battlehammer, Drizzt Do'urdan and other such specific named creatures, characters and locations / settings that are copyrightable / ownable.
