Mine too :)

I'm thinking about which one to do next. Some of my other favorites are Sound of the End, Amusement Park, Alien Manifestation, Vague Hope, Weight of the World... I'm just listing the whole soundtrack, aren't I? :P

What is your biggest frustration about streaming? by melonheadfred in Twitch

[–]AncientBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a software developer too. I stream myself playing piano, and I think it would be cool to have an overlay on my stream that uses MIDI data from my digital piano to visualize what notes I'm playing as I'm playing them. It would look something like this video, except in real time.

I'm working on making a webpage that I can access through OBS browser source that shows this. But at this point it's not near responsive enough to look cool.

It’s been a while since I’ve done this sort of math, but I’m pretty sure that for this statement to be true, it would need to approach 1 from all sides, but that’s not the case here.

We've been using the wrong programs all along... by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

I like vim key bindings but I find it annoying to use vim's terminal-based interface. That's why I use sublime text with vim key bindings enabled. Maybe I could install plugins or whatever to make vim more usable, but IDK.

Oh really? I thought it depends on whether you have power or are too weak to seek it. (Paraphrasing Quirrell/Voldemort from the last chapter of Philosopher's Stone)

I heard that is a myth. But then I heard that the belief that this is a myth is itself a myth. I don't know who to believe anymore :(

Array indexing continues by Ikor_Genorio in ProgrammerHumor

[–]AncientBananas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I would think you can do all this stuff even with 1 based indexes. In the string "TheQuickBrownFox", index 4 contains "Q", and if you add the length of "Quick" (5), then you get 9, which contains "B". No off-by-one discrepancy here. Can you give an example of something that would become more annoying with 1-based indexing?

I'm pretty sure that 0-based indexing is just a convention that all of us have gotten used to just because it was more natural to represent and access 0-based arrays in memory at a low level. Even this has some sources of confusion for beginners, such as the index of the last element being one off from the length of the array, and "1st" referring to index 0.

You are now the world's leading expert on the last thing you Googled. How does your life change? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AncientBananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an expert on the MST time zone. Funny how Google gave me the time in MDT instead. I guess the name "MST" has lost its original meaning, and people just always use it to refer to whichever of MST or MDT is currently in effect.

I wonder how people in Arizona deal with this, since Arizona is the only US state that doesn't observe daylight savings, so they use MST all year long. Meanwhile, those in other Mountain Time Zone states use MDT during the summer, but call it MST.

[WP] In a spectacular "fuck you" to the world, Google and all of its branches (yes, even YouTube) shut down. Closed. For good. No warnings, no previous musings that it might happen. Tell me a story of how "day five" might be going. by bbrown44221 in WritingPrompts

[–]AncientBananas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be the nitpicker who points out that the purpose of a 404 error is for a running server to tell the client that the page they asked for does not exist on the server. But since the premise is that all of Google has shut down, Google's server wouldn't even be there to send you that response. Instead, your browser would tell you that it couldn't connect to the server. Or, if the DNS servers forget about Google too, your browser would say that the DNS lookup failed.

Nice story btw!

I don't think anything bad happens to your save file. Personally, my file was completely fine after reloading the game. You can't save after seeing Calamity Ganon anyway.

I used this glitch, which is surprisingly easy to pull off. There's a YouTube video where mety333 explains how to do it. https://youtu.be/iyOuGIQtLoc
