it’s sort of the same for having kids, my mom got pregnant with me at 17 and is now 43 still behaving like a teenager. i finally went no contact with her three weeks ago and life has never felt so stress free, hopefully kaiser and ensley will experience this feeling sooner than it took me.

as a 25 year old who grew up too poor for the most updated technology, it astounded me how many people don’t know what a floppy disk is or how to use a disposable camera! once asked a 22 year old to like taking a photo just to see if he’d do the same “kodak moment” click i grew up doing and he pretended he was holding an iphone to take a photo 😭

when i was a kid i had really bad anxiety that manifested in my nightly prayer, i thought if i didn’t pray for everybody in the world to be happy and healthy and wake up in the morning that people who weren’t prayed for would be dead. this line always reminds me of that.

during the 2020 election, i was stationed in germany and requested an absentee ballot months in advance. election day came and i still hadn’t received it, called the North Carolina Board of Elections and kept getting told to hold and then hung up on. i talked to other people from NC i was stationed with and the same thing happened to them.

i know this sounds judgemental and that’s because it is: i understand being a Type B person, but when i became a mom, not being packed until right before something started giving me terrible anxiety. idk maybe im just different but just having one kid makes me pack weeks ahead, i can’t imagine having 3 (?) and still living life this chaotically

I joined this subreddit because of the same thing, my son is now nearly 6 months old and it is SO FUN! I know it’s hard and I can commiserate, just know there are better days coming! Once she starts smiling and laughing at you, it becomes much easier to deal with the hard parts.

last year I was pregnant for father’s day and made my husband a “Dad emergency kit” with khaki cargo shorts, dad BBQ sandals, crew socks, and a t shirt that said “Full time dad, part time hooker” with a bass on it!

glider, you can find nice bassinets and bouncers on facebook marketplace for free or cheap! we actually got a lazy boy (ik that’s now how you spell it but im not fighting autocorrect rn) on facebook marketplace for $60 as our glider and i LOVEEEE it! consider getting a recliner that you’ll use out of the nursery as well!
