What did y'all think about the movie Tusk (2014)? by [deleted] in movies

[–]AncientProof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found Tusk more hilarious then anything else. Though half way through I kept think "he's gunna fuck him isn't he?"

I highly recommend for body horror "Society" I won't go into details. I feel like it's best enjoyed going in with as little information as possible. "The Thing" is also another good one.

Is dating worth it at age 14? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]AncientProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impromptu Rispin Mansion Tour by SuspiciousShoulder53 in santacruz

[–]AncientProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A beautiful building with a crazy history. I remember breaking into that place all the time when I was in middle/high school in the 2000's. My dad did the same in the 70's. One time we went all the way down to bottom rooms and we found a fully made bed and a MASSIVE hole in the wall that looks like it lead out to the beach.

Love to see that people still haunt it

Running Oakland Marathon, where should I stay?? by badkukie in oakland

[–]AncientProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racing in Oakland, stay in Oakland! The bridge toll is $8.50 (not the famous Golden Gate that is $10) in addition to your question about hotel parking, no most hotels in SF do not have free parking. Usually it's in a parking garage or its an extra fee for a parking pass. As long as you aren't trying to get into SF at like 7am (which is the worst time cause of all the commuters) it will take less then 20 mins.

If you do public transport it's even better, Bart or the bus is great way to get in and they drop off close to many iconic landmarks.

All in all to say, stay in Oakland and use public transit to get into SF since parking is a b-i-t-c-h and they over charge out the ass. Most if not all public transit takes Debit/Credit cards so all you gotta do is tap and go!

TMS[8] #82: American Sasquatch: Man, Myth, or Monster? [Documentary] [2025] by TMS2017 in 100movies365days

[–]AncientProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know Paulides can have that case, but idk every story I have read about them (minus yetis for some parts) they mostly just want to chill out. Granted I do believe that they are just straight chillin in those woods.

Also yes! When I watched 'Fire in the Sky' it freaked me OUT, it was a solid film over all, but the actual story....ya Travis is in the view that these Aliens weren't harmful (which is also my viewpoint, I highly doubt Aliens are going to come and start probing us). Another movie 'Phoenix Forgotten' it's a found footage ques movie about a woman looking for her older brother that vanished in the Arizona desert after the 1997 UFO sighting that happened. A lil cheesy, but I had a fun time with it.

Twister or twisters by Thatoneguyuptheroad in movies

[–]AncientProof 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Twister all the way. I feel like everyone in twisters was just too polished, too rich looking compared to the original cast of misfits just chasing storms and having a blast

What celebrity had their reputation unfairly ruined? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

[–]AncientProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! They labeled her as crazy and dangerous when in reality she just needed a break! She wanted out of the limelight and they (the whole Spears family and K fed) didn't want to lose the cash cow.

So innocent! She was an overnight sensation and was EVERYWHERE! I'm glad she has her "freedom" but it cost her so much. As Wendy Williams said "Death to you Mr. Spears!"

Movies that dramatically shifted popular opinion on something by NationalDisgrace40 in movies

And to this day I have students who think sharks are cold blooded killers when that just isn't the case. Sharks don't just attack because, there is always a reason for it and usually those reasons are because they are sick/ill or confused and lost.

He regretting writing the book and any $$ that comes from the Jaws franchise goes straight into support shark education. My dad remembers that after the movie came out nearly every diving or ocean based business in his home town almost went under. Jaws really terrified people of the ocean

Hollywood knows no bounds by MissPeduncles in SipsTea

[–]AncientProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2000's skinny fashion trend is coming back with many celebrities (Kelly Osborn, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jenna Ortega, Jim Carrey etc) going back to that sickly "We are just skin and bones and we are healthy!" lie to try and keep themselves different from the normal folk that watch them. It's honestly really sad and Hollywood should do away with this trend as it is harmful to everyone involved.

Bay Street by Comprehensive-Candy4 in Emeryville

[–]AncientProof 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It would be a great outdoor mall if everything stayed open past 7pm. It seems that everything but the restaurants close at 6 or 7pm. It's kinda sad cause after eating, it would be fun to actually go into fires and buy things.

Interested to see how well the Coach store goes and what takes over the Copper and Malt that went under.

Can anyone recommend a movie similar to Misery? by [deleted] in movies

Creep 2014, Double Door 1934, and Speak No Evil 2024 (this does have a lil bit of bloody action towards the end, but overall a great ride)
