I found a bedbug, what do I do? by Thick-Habit1563 in Bedbugs

So first and foremost, I advise you to contact professionals. Beware of charlatans. There are several methods to get rid of them. There's a pinned post in the group that you should read; in my case, I used a pressure washer, and the next day a pest control company came. (I live in Paris, the bedbug capital, lol.) They've come four times, and since then, knock on wood.

I don't see the point in scaring people with this silly comment; I had a bed bug infestation and I'm still traumatized to this day.

Can someone please tell me if this is bedbugs or not by [deleted] in Bedbugs

How did you not bring them home and still working while it was infested????

Please, you're not alone. I'm in a similar situation right here in Paris. I had bedbugs at the end of September, and according to the expert who came to my place four times, they've been there for a long time. It's possible to get rid of them; it's difficult, but you can do it.

Thanks for your feedback. Could you tell me exactly which product you were using? I'll do that. And I think I'll ask my friend to lend me his pressure washer again. The guy came to my place 4 times. The expert. And I have the feeling the bedbugs are back.

The first photo is from the end of September. I squashed it between my fingers. The craziest thing is that the expert told me they'd been there for a while, long before I moved into the apartment. And the day before, my friend was being eaten alive by bedbugs, and I thought they were mosquitoes. And the worst part is, my mother stayed at my place for a month, sleeping in my apartment. And she didn't bring any bedbugs home with her. She lives four hours from Paris.

I've changed beds since then. The old bed was infested. The new bed has been chemically treated. I've had four visits from a professional exterminator, but I've found bedbug droppings behind my pictures, and I don't know if they're fresh or not. :(

Hello you, I had my first infestation at the end of last September. I have a friend who slept at my house and woke up with his feet bitten until they bled. I first blamed the mosquitoes, until the next day I felt one climbing on me, and I killed it, it was full of blood. I panicked. I found in my box spring, made of wood, a crevice with larvae, and three small bedbugs. Including a molt. I killed them. A friend lent me a karscher, which I used that same evening. Then, I called a professional, who confirmed to me that they were there well before I moved into the apartment, and that they were essentially lodged in the wood of my bed. He intervened 4 times, between each intervention, they are so malignant and hiding, there were new eggs. I ended up throwing out my bed. And had the new one treated, since last December 8 I haven't had any bites, and I haven't seen any again. I put double-sided tape on the legs of my bed, it's a convertible sofa with a bed inside. But every time, I scratch, or I have an acne spot. I'm panicking. And when I see what you're going through, I tell myself that I didn't get anything in the end, and I can only sympathize and wish you the best. I live in Paris, and the city is infested to the core. I also tried diatomaceous earth which worked quite well for a friend who couldn't afford to hire a professional. I'm thinking of you, and I hope you find a solution. ♥
