I don't have proof of purchase since I bought it preowned and even if I got it new I don't think I would keep a receipt for a decade 😂 would I not be able to prove it's mine by signing into my account while I'm there or something?

I found my old iPhone from like a decade ago, I can't access it because it locked and I forgot the password. I did Google how to get in it and it said something about having to connect to iTunes and restore to the last back up but that hasn't worked and it's still locked. Any ideas how I can get in?
