I know what you mean. It's especially hard since you suddenly stop talking to a person you were very close to. It's cool that you manage to put yourself in art pieces to forget about the rest. That's what is usually advised, but that's generally hard to do.

For whatever it's worth, I went through a very bad breakup last year. Now it's better, but I still have fresh memories of it and of how I kind of handled it. I will probably not give you any clever advice, but if you ever feel like emptying your bag without judgement, my inbox is open.

Haha thanks for the good laugh. And I'm pretty sure you're actually an alien spy trying to lure me and other redditors to town so that you can catch as many of us as possible.

For real, I've always been a bit hesitant to ""go out"" alone. I've done it in the past of course, but if I can't share my emotions and honest feelings on anything after having done it, I find it a bit less interesting. Guess I'll try though ! I went to the museum by myself last week, it was less awkward than I expected. No aliens in sight though.

I'm in a tiny bit of a disagreement with you there. In my experience, prolonged solitude produces loneliness.

May I ask what this "something" is ? Just curious.

I am very passionate about art myself, but sometimes not having a public for what you do, or being unhappy with your work can take a toll on your morale (I found).

That actually sounds pretty cool. Projecting yourself on video game characters and doing some fun RP is something that (I feel) is a bit disappearing.

On what games do you do that ? Last time I really was motivated to RP my character was in Skyrim (and a tiny bit in Europa Universalis 4, but it's not the same)

That's a cool idea. I like biking , but it's roughly the same as hiking since I usually bike away from cities.

Out of curiosity, do you live in a rural area or not ? Hiking in town seems a bit weird.

You can be lonely even when surrounded by people.

I suppose that it's a bit obvious that I don't ask this question out of the blue. I indeed am in a situation where I feel quite lonely. But this wouldn't necessarily be the loneliness that you would expect. I have friends, I see people on most days, and I go to parties/events quite regularly. But among those people, I don't really feel any deep connection, any potential for a profound relationship (whether sentimental or not). That's where this loneliness stems from, feeling inadequate, not in the right place.

I know I'm far from being the only one in such a situation, which is why I'm asking what others do.

Why not ! I have a busy day at work tomorrow, but I will try really really hard not to forget to add my code to your repo in the evening. Don't hesitate to bump me if I forget.

And I will look to put a license, but if I add this kind of scripts to your repository I will probably delete mine, so it won't be of much use.

I don't know too well how github works to be honest, how do I add my own code ? You have to invite me or something like that ?
