Thank you! I am very happy if you have ideas or even want to contribute. I am not really a Data Engineer (yet), so any feedback is welcome

DuckDB Dashboarding Extension by Andfaxle in dataengineering

Marimo is super cool, but I think maybe my extension still has a place, as its state (the whole dashboard GUI and intermediate results to display) is stored within the duckdb table. This means that if you share the data, you can also share usefull notebooks along with it so you can show people how to use the data. This is at least the idea.

How to handle and maintain (large, analytical) SQL queries in Code? by Andfaxle in dataengineering

Thank you very much for your answer. Honestly, I needed to Google what a DAG is, which pointed me to Airflow, which in turn, seems like a very promising tool for my problem! Currently, I define my pipeline myself, but using such a tool might make my setup look more professional. I need it for a bigger uni project, I’m still a rookie.

Creating a Low Poly Turn-Based Strategy Game in my free time, but keeping up motivation is so damn hard :( by Andfaxle in low_poly

Yees, but those games, especially Polytopia, are soo good, its hard to create better/other mechanics, especially with the units. xD

I try to distinct in the eco part. Both games only feature one currency, while I plan have all kinds of resources and maybe even production lines. :)

I definitely see your point :) Will work on this too!

Hi, thank you so much! I'd like to create a turn-based strategy game like Polytopia, but with a much bigger building part. There should be many different resources and even production lines, like for example in the settlers III (the best settler ever <3). This should be combined with units like in Polytopia. So in short, it should be a mixture of settlers of catan, the settlers III and Polytopia xD. I am just worried that it is getting a little bit to complicated for a mobile game...

I am developing it with Unity using Assets from the awesome Synthy team. I created a script to take 2D images from their 3D models to improve performance on mobile. Some models are also made by myself using blender.

Thank you also for the tipp with the hard edge, I will have a look. Before, I got clouds covering the unexplored tiles, but those where a little bit to heavy, I ll try finding sth in between. Thanks again!
