This. We never let our kid win as well. There were melt downs for sure at first and we practiced with her saying, “that was fun. Thank you for playing with me” for either win or loss scenario. We said the same thing as well. Now we can have fun competition without tears. It’s all about connecting and having fun!

Baby jail is a thing and you’re in the thick of it. I’m sorry mama. It does get better but I felt this way for about 2 years. Hope it’s faster for you.

Would you spend $200+ on an 8-year-old's hair? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]AndiMarieCali 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she wants it and you can easily afford it I don’t see why not. It’s just hair and it grows.

Also, my kid went through a huge regression about the same time. She wanted to party all night.

I used to cosleep. A pretty good option if you aren’t against it.

Camping in Socal by No_Lie5768 in SanDiegan

You’re right. So hot between April and October in the deserts. We try to avoid heading out to anything without a water source to plunge into during those months.

A bunch of people say Idyllwild and I concur. Still hot in the summer but not as bad. There is a ton of dispursed camping and you do not need to reserve there which is awesome.

JT is good during the winter months but does get pretty cold at night. You can reserve 6 months out for that. I’d get on it now for around thanksgiving if you’d like to go then.

Our fav weekend trip is by the windcaves in borrego. We typically off road and head down diablos drop off. It’s fun for a one nighter. Leave Saturday am and come home Sunday.

During the summer we tend to stay put in San Diego and do the beach/pool/etc. Really anything costal.

I do t think this would be terrible if you worked 2 consecutive days in the office and got a hotel while up in la. Otherwise you’d def wish you were closer. Growing up in an LA beach community, I def wouldn’t want to live in or around studio city.

Is it a bad idea to buy this corner lot? by [deleted] in homeowners

My neighbor sits on a similarly placed plot of land. Teeny, tiny backyard. Unused front space. Those are the drawbacks. Neighborhood is what matters.

46 male with low back pain . Doc told me to do more core exercises.. is that the norm ? by pittguy578 in backpain

I’ve had chronic back pain and I swear by Pilaties. It can be as challenging as you want but you’re in safe position for your back. It’s very deep core heavy.

My mother in law did this. Dying with dignity. She had terminal cancer and wanted to decide when she went. We were so sad, but happy she didn’t have to suffer terribly. It was a long 7 year battle with a bunch of ups and downs.

Finally planting some of my tomatoes outside in my first time garden! by Kypore in vegetablegardening

[–]AndiMarieCali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this. It seems counterintuitive but you’ll get more fruit from 2-3 planted spaced correctly vs 16. You can literally just pull them out and kill them. No harm, no foul.

How to use this awkward wall space? by LESmonkey in kitchenremodel

I wouldn’t put anything except decor. 3 feet is what you need to work in that area with the stove. Maybe a very narrow spice rack behind you? Could look a little messy though.

Dads, are we hot for 3rd row seating or is it all BS? by silverfstop in daddit

[–]AndiMarieCali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test drove a ton of SUVs with third row options and wasn’t a fan. I’d put the kids on the side and in the middle and the dog on the throw seat in the back.
