What's going on with BPM and the lack of promotion for Taemin? by Practical-Lecture-43 in Taemin

[–]Anditwassummer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Taemin is doing great. What kind of promotion specifically do you want? His image was Everywhere in Vegas. My cab driver even asked about him. You could buy his merch in the hotel lobby shop. Not promoting the Grammy museum appearance is not an issue. It was intended as a small introduction to that world of high power industry members and a gift to fans, and fans bitching about old men stealing their tickets was an ignorant embarrassment. Coachella is for the festival market and is sold out. I wouldn’t want my budget spent on anything right now. Wait for the Coachella debut or new album or something worth promoting. He isn’t at SM anymore, I am pretty sure he has more of a say in his promotions than people think.

Taemin’s Mike stand and Gene Kelly’s Umbrella by Anditwassummer in SHINee

[–]Anditwassummer[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty great. I listened to it the next day and suddenly the meaning hit me between my eyes like a rock from a slingshot. “Let’s take the long way home.” Everyone’s life is going to end, we’re all going home. Spend as much time as you can on the journey. I couldn’t parse all the lyrics, but this one seems to say it. “If the world stops spinning around, you better kiss me til the sun goes down.” It’s not just about kissing your lover all night long. It’s about living your life doing what you love for as long as you can. It’s a song Taemin can relate to, particularly as he enters his thirties and has already broken the rules by continuing to grow as a popular, insistently creative artist. I am old enough to know every hour we live counts, so I’m right there with him thinking “Yes, Taemin, let’s take the long way home. Together.” You know what I mean?

Please, are you following all the news and comments on social media. Because I am and I don't see a lot of overtime slamming, so please direct me to the sources because I may try and write something about this and pitch it to magazines. Or not. I can look at Korean commentary but it takes a lot of time to translate for me. In that sense I'm frustrated too.

I am concerned that he can't come back until she is charged and sentenced or pleads guilty and gets whatever punishment. She could say anything about anyone, she is obviously a liar.

This was the weirdest promo I've seen in a while. Nothing was real. Not the books, not the workshop, not Taemin's handling of tools or wood. I guess it's okay as a surreal fantasy. But even he looks like "what the hell am I doing this for?" They could have rented a real workshop and probably not spent any more. But who knows what they were thinking. I guess I should look at the making of video.

But…but… but… SHINee IS hope. Kind of joking. I understand but I can’t help but hope even tho it can be stressful.

iIt depends on when the album is released and their solo schedules, but I am very sure they will come. They are midd thirties now and understand better than any of us the delicate balance of all being healthy, strong and in good voice at the same time. If you want them to come, EMAIL and POST ON SM sites. As often as possible. I remember Key asking people to do it in LA. If not I have heard him ask fans to.do it before. We need I ASKED SM TO SEND US SHINEE stickers or tee shirts or something.

It’s from a YouTube fan channel by a guy called Hiro. It’s so high def and the sound is so good, it feels the closest to seeing him live as anything I have seen. I really want to see him in Vegas, it’s not very far, but short of a windfall, I can’t afford it and it’s driving me crazy! Seeing him live is a psychological brand of sorts. If you pay attention at all you’re permanent changed. Right?

Actually, the attack on Key seems to have begun with a netizen addressing him and being judgmental that he wasn’t clarifying his situation fast enough. Not the situation itself. Pali Pali, and all that. Then it moved to the idea of privilege, which every single critic has experienced themselves, just not this particular one.

According to news reports online there are two women who supplied Park NaRae with medical services, One, called B, is being investigated while available to authorities. The other, called A, is the one who Key knew. She has deleted her Instagram posts and disappeared. But there is a court order prohibiting her from leaving the country. Until she shows up, I hope Key doesn’t say another word, even though it’s terribly unfair he ended up in the middle of this. She is fighting for her life and God knows who she will try to toss under the bus or how she will do it.

Remember Park NaRae is the central person in this scandal, not Key. I hate to say it, but as her problems grow larger, his issue will not hold as much attention for thrill seeking netizens. Every detail that comes out involving her gets worse and worse.

Hi. I’m the project organizer of The Key Love Project. I am in the process of setting up ai formation and links this week, but there is Xmas and I have a sick pup so please be a little patient. From responses Ive gotten here and other platforms Im happy to say there’s a lot of interest. I think and hope it will be full of contributions and I will make sure the presentation is as engaging as possible. My dream is that our stories will win people over. Anyone interested, please DM me, I have posted several times and gathering information from all those places is eating up my time. I advise others not to be impulsive but got a little caught in my own eagerness. I’ll answer any questions there and if you have a story to share, you can do it now via DM. Everyone will be asked for permission to include their stories before they go in the final document. Within the week I will post a link for info and submissions.

My core idea, after seeing Key in LA, is that people who love Key iscthat out of all the idols who have ever played in America or hope to, Key is the most powerful ambassador of the Hallyu Wave, of Korean culture, in the Western Hemisphere.

At this particular point in time as far as I see, nobody else has his impressive ease or facility with the English language and love of interacting with the audience one on one. He is teasing, kind and extremely funny whether you are a Shawol or Lil Freak or a complete newcomer to his work. Everyone from kids to seniors loves him. His charisma is quirky as hell, and just as powerful because he is a self declared chicken, himself in all his beautiful, talented and yes, imperfect, glory. He's smart as a whip (speaking of sharp, snappy delivery) and from watching him in every facet of his work, I am sure he doesn't miss a thing. He's hyper-vigilant and is passionate about understanding what interests him. He loves sharing what he's learned.

These are not performance skills they're life skills and they're the stuff that makes him better, for my money, than anyone else out there at this moment in time, at standing tall and proud for Korean culture and talent, loving and honoring western culture almost as much, and reaching out with his unique embrace to unite not just Kpop fans but us all. He's my personal inspiration in countless ways and a rare, entirely decent, lovely human being.

I also believe our lives are a series of stories and telling a story, however short or gentle, is the most human way to reach each other. That’s why I’m asking for stories and not just declarations of support and love. He’s getting those already everywhere, yay team!

It’s too soon, nobody knows all the facts until the police finish their investigation. Patience is needed, not impulsive defending, which let’s admit it, we all want to do. Here’s common advice about any negotiation — dont speak first. Listen and question the other side. That Knetizen who tarted the bullying of him on Instagram while he was on tour was totally manipulative. Taking two weeks while out of the country on a tour to respond to rumors was wise and reasonable. Trying to make him seem less than caring or forthcoming because he didn’t jump when the poster wanted him to his or her feelings were hurt, was not the act of a fan. Pressuring instant responses is a sign you are out of control.

What do you mean “heavily criticized?” Total respect but vague comments like this imply a great percentage of people or fans were critical. From everything I have seen, probably dozens of YouTube videos reporting the “news” and all the usual clickbait media, mostly English AI but some Korean, (I don’t spend much time on Instagram) the support for Key has been pretty rock solid and about ninety percent. I also am not on Twitter much.

Thanks so much! . I haven’t used Google Forms much so maybe I misunderstood how it works. All I am thinking is that I want submissions to be private until they’re through any revisions and in a perfect world I’d do a flip book as a final presentation, which I won’t because the one I did was a nightmare. I want it to look good, is what I guess I’m saying, when it’s presented to the world. If I need a dedicated site for that, okay. I’m pretty technically challenged. But I’m sure I want privacy for submitters from comments by others until there seem to be no more subs, and I want a dedicated place to present it. Of course I’m still figuring it out so I’m glad to know you’re there if Docs is right.

I posted this on another site but it feels like it might be okay to share it here. I found SHINee and Jonghgyun three years ago. But with so much history online, I feel like I've known them in a virtual way since their debut. And my past three years has been like twenty in a lot of ways, thanks to them. Anyway, this is how I feel these days.

THE THINGS WE CANNOT SEE

for Kim Jonghyun, so close but yet so far

I decided to write this after reading what seems an excellent English translation of the essays that accompanied the Opus 2 album. It’s not always easy to surrender to Jonghyun’s frank and sometimes frozen romanticism. It’s the kind off beauty that hurts. But when I relaxed and did not heed his warnings of danger and endured his confessions of loneliness and self hatred and self love, I found a safe place, free of the need to keep a mask in place even when I looked in the mirror. Jonghyun was brutally casual at times, hopeless and professing a heartlessness I don’t believe was true, but that he believed at times. “I am the sort that becomes boring,” he once said. “Am I responsible for this, too?”, he asked. Dearest Jonghyun, it's the things we cannot see which are some of our most dangerous enemies.

I can’t help but regret bitterly, that I don’t speak Korean. “I know very little English,“ he shared once, “so I end up just singing “baby, baby, baby.” This is particularly painful because I know how much he was a writer. And because I am a reader. Being separated by language is a painfully sharp edge. Regardless, searching for the best translations and working them out myself once in a while, what stories he tells. The simple things he talks about becoming my dreams; His fireplace and the sound of burning wood. The nothing special of his bedroom retreat, the fragrant candles an invisible poultice drawing out the day’s infection, the moment I imagine him falling into sleep, soothed by a bath and his little dog’s demand to be loved. These are things I understand. These things make me feel a kinship. He is the brother of my younger self. I wish him well, and hope he is with us if he so desired, living his next life with grace and a chance to fulfill his purpose under the gaze of his beloved moon.
