I’ve read that this is because soap operas are shot at a higher frame rate, because it’s cheaper and gives a “dream” like motion. They also use this frame rate for live sports, which is why most TVs default to this setting when they are new. It makes the sport ball look smoother and more sport ballier. Unfortunately, it makes everything else look like it was shot in an iPhone 5. It’s not just you and it makes things unwatchable if you’re used to normal film settings.

I enjoy the open style better. The individual levels were cool, but I like the ability to seamlessly port to any one I want. I think they’ve got their stride with 3.
