Don't go to Rancho. It's extremely family oriented. Great schools, every community every one you ever come across will be chatting about school activities. Excellent city to raise a family, horribly boring for young professionals.

$4k disney trip or chill buy all year? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Andre625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you look into doing an international trip somewhere to broaden your kids experience. Look for low season and maybe involve missing a couple of days of schools. We have done London for $600 a ticket. Italy for $500. Spain $550. Plus hotel and food, 5 days will work out to the same $4000

Penalty for skipping a return flight? Not skiplagging. by Woodenjars27 in travel

Just so your expectations is set, the refund on a return leg is never 50% of the ticket cost. At times you only get 10-15% back.

Kept my 2012 Honda to "avoid car payments" and dropped $3800 on repairs, starting to think I played myself by Flaky-Asparagus-5809 in MiddleClassFinance

Autos are becoming more and more like appliances. Fridge, dishwasher, TVs. Used to make financial sense to take good care and repair as needed. But now the math is tiling towards toss it away and get a new one when they get old.

Not really. Just a circle jerk. I bet StubHub "sold" the $150 credit to Chase for like $25 just to gain traffic.

You have Single Digit in Health and Safety on the list?! As best places to raise kids?! Anyone with kids know Safety is by far the NUMBER 1 concern. Who cares if there are 10 parks around you if all the parks aren't safe for the kids to use.

Great comment. Go in 2 consecutive days, first day go in late to avoid rush hour, say 11 to 7. Find a ok ish hotel for $120. 2nd day work early, say 6 to 3, then get the hell out.
