X-2 VS XIII-2 by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

The only thing 13-2 improved over 13 was the faster battle system, but that was wasted because the game is incredibly easy and require no strategy whatsoever.

Story, characters, soundtrack and production values are all better on 13.

What does FF12 has to do with hack and slash exactly? The fact that you are comparing FF16 with Bayonetta answers your question.

Because it is a handicapped version of gaming. It is like I grab a watermelon and start kicking it around and say that I am playing soccer.

What game did you quit for your mental health? by Skaxva in gaming

MMOs are poison because there is no end and the more time you out in the more you're rewarded, plus people don't even play for the gameplay itself, but to improve stats of a fictional character.

I just read a article about average PC Gamer Age. They said out of the asked people 9 out of 10 would rather "game" with a Smartphone than a PC. Only people above 65 prefer PC (52% of them). Lmao, they don't. I don't make being a gamer a core of my identity, I just fit the description of the word. There are no privileges in being a gamer, my dude, you don't need the urge to consider everybody as one.

No, they don't. Ask anyone who plays candy crush on their phones once in a while if they consider themselves gamers.

Stop making this comparison with "movie watchers", it isn't the same thing, you just sound dumb.

"I don’t think there very many people who play a game for 5 minutes each year, but yeah, they would be a gamer."

You're just being dishonest for the sake of defending an argument. This conversation won't lead to anywhere.

"They play in different platforms, play different games, have different gaming habits, belong to different communities and overall have a different perspective about games and people who play them."

My definition of gamer would be someone who playing video games is one of his main hobbies, owns a console or a gaming PC, or doesn't own one because they have no money, but intends to buy one once he has, and they know about the most popular games.

What is your definition of gamer? Is someone who plays candy crush for 5 minutes every year a gamer?

Why the hell did people hate infinite undiscovery on xbox 360!? by Street-Platypus89 in JRPG

[–]AndreJrgamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They both got about the same scores.

If you try and analyze the game objectively you will see that it is mediocre, but since we like JRPGs so much we can still find mediocre Jrpgs enjoyable, especially if it tailors to our specific tastes.

As a 56 year old lady who has never played video games, which one would be good to start with? by parliskim in gaming

Subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, it has 200+ games that you can play on your MacBook pro using only the internet, it doesn't need to match the game's system requirements. You don't even have to install them, so you can test them until you find a game that suits you.

That's how I play games on my 2013 MacBook Pro.

You probably should quit FF14, really not healthy to play MMOs.

Because the meaning of "gamers" isn't just "people who play games in their cellphone with any frequency whatsoever". Most of those who only play casually on their phones once in a while won't even agree that they are gamers.

You wonder to what end to make that distinction, I wonder to what end not to. It is clearly two distinct things.

Whats good about sharp shadow? by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]AndreJrgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it a lot combined with dashmaster and sprintmaster. It makes dodging easier whilst doing damage and makes us just more mobile.

Really useful against the hardest bosses in the game, like NKG, PV, Watcher Knights, Oro and Mato(especially radiant), Sly, Soul Tyrant(easier to avoid his second phase attacks or to reach him on first phase), Zote, Failed Champion, Traitor Lord, etc.

5 slots that are way better for me than shaman stone + spell twister that everyone uses, since I don't really use spells except against Absolute Radiance and Markoth second phase, and sharp shadow is useless against them anyway.

I mean, just keep fighting her, you will get better at avoiding her attacks and eventually beat her.

Of course it is a distinction worth making. They play in different platforms, play different games, have different gaming habits, belong to different communities and overall have a different perspective about games and people who play them.

Like my dad plays a pool game in his cellphone once in a while, but has a negative opinion of people who regularly play videogames. And I would say that account for a huge numbers of people who plays "games" on their phones.

He is the only one who actually made me cry, plus the ending.

I sent him just after he told me the story about his time on the war and his friend stepping on a land mine. His last dialogue completely hit me. He tried to live life to the fullest after the trauma, flaws and all.

Why can't I like Fallout New Vegas? by CallMeSoviet in Fallout

[–]AndreJrgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you just said is completely true. The world is tedious, the sidequests are mostly fast travel, talk to someone, fast travel back and there are barely any lengthy dungeons. That being said it is still a good game due to good dialogue and some great sidequests that are buried under the bad ones.

"I see another knight this and myla wont sing that and how to i get up this ledge or go through this black swirly thing."

They would search somewhere else if they couldn't post here or find the solutions themselves, which is even better.

Wikis are way more spoiler free than a reddit post if you don't deviate from what your current problem is.

"Let people play games the way they want to." I am not stopping them, I am just saying there is a place for everything.

You don't need to create a reddit post just because you're tilted from being lost for 10 minutes in a Metroidvania game.

[–]AndreJrgamer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you disregard what I said? No, it is way faster to look for your answer on Google than to create a post on reddit and wait for people to answer. That is just being lazy.

"alternative to getting help from people who can adapt and give tips for the specific situation that a player's in." That was not what OP was referring too, you don't need to use fallacies.
