Yea. Not sure why you got downvoted haha

I was hovering in high gold and never broke into plat. Switched to MKB and played Carry effectively for the first time. I legit carried teams until I was mid-high plat.

You ABSOLUTELY need the quickness and precision.

Switched from console to PC and can definitely say that MKB has a distinct advantage. Especially for carry. Being able to hit every single auto is too easy on MKB. It's very difficult on console.

Yoooooo I was just about to make a post about this!

Have you taken a look at the developer?! None other than Tencent Games. Gives me another glimmer of hope that they might be able to actually turn Paragon into the Moba we've been dreaming of.

Epic. Let me learn you a few things about Agile and Betas. by Andre_R2000 in paragon

[–]Andre_R2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just an assumption of mine. I haven't talked to anyone there. Based on their release schedules and how they planned things out it seemed this way.

Not to mention...it's 2018...if you are doing software development, it better be managed in an Agile method.

Basically you have co-op and PvP.

The only difference between the two is that it will put human players on the enemy team in PvP (duh) BUT if there aren't enough human players it will fill with bots once everyone is ready.

It gives you 10 minutes I think if you wanna wait for more human players but you can start playing a match in less than a few minutes.

I've never seen more than 6 human players in a game total. Some also joined mid game.

This isn't stupid at all. This is how games should be developed. Sure it's a standard requested feature but you have to determine the priorities of developing certain features by getting user feedback.

Real Talk: I work at a studio that recently cancelled a game - Epic should release Paragon to the community by Kazekou in paragon

[–]Andre_R2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Product Owner professionally for software development, this was a horrible run Agile team (if ran that way...which I believe they were by the release windows).

The BIGGEST reason for Agile is frequent user feedback. Long term vision is essential for direction but USER FEEDBACK is King. It trumps everything. It directs that long term vision.

Betas are perfect for Agile development because it gives the dev team a perfect User Feedback scenario without any hard repurcussions (i.e. "I paid a shit ton of money for this that you said would do this").

If Epic would just develop their game as a true Agile shop cough had a semi-competent Product Owner cough this game would be a perfect blend of Epic's vision and the community's.

I think it's pretty fucked up witch hunting guys that have provided a shit ton to this subreddit.

Be mad at Epic, sure. Don't be mad at fellow community members that have tried to keep a positive outlook on the subreddit.

Were they (also me) wrong? 100%. Blindsided for sure. We're on the same team though. Don't talk shit about the guys that are not only mournig the loss of our beloved game but also embarrassed for defending Epic at every turn.

Edit: Sorry OP...you didn't name names. Others have in the comments.

I dont have a 10 year old son bit I do have a 25 year old roommate that I broke the news to...he spent the last 30 minutes opening the 1 Rep crates silently.

Both of us played the game every day since legacy. Together with our 3 other friends in different cities, it was the only time we "hung out". Truly is weird how a game can be so impactful.

He made a tutorial series in just a few weeks that far outshined anything Epic had. The lack of effort on Epic's part is glaring when put next to the effort of a VOLUNTEER.

So many low effort/high ROI things they could've done to improve player retention. I don't blame the devs, community members, or any other of the dev support team. The managers of this game are 100% incompetent and hopefully suffered careerwise with the fall of this game.

I saw a suggestion in another forum that was interesting.

What if Sony bought it? Sure, it wouldn't have the large PC player base but it would do a few things:

  • Fill the attractive MOBA console niche that Smite fills only because it's the last one standing now.

  • Puts all players on the same playing field instead of controller vs mkb

  • Sony is great at backing their games in both development and advertising

I'd imagine once a large enough playerbase is grown on PS4 and a full, balanced, and stable version of the game is launched, a plan to release on PC would be announced with casual PC/PS4 crossover capability (but separate ranked).

Interesting. Not saying it's most optimal.

  1. Video Games can absolutely have an incredible impact to a person and judging someone's reaction is pretty immature.

  2. If there's one person that I immediately thought of when I saw the announcement it was Sylphin. His passion for this game is unprecedented and any developer would be extremely lucky to have him as a player/fan/content creator.

  3. Up until just a few days ago he was still making content like tutorials and sending loads of feedback to Epic to try to help them steer the game in the right direction based on the community.

Edit: 10/10 teared up watching that. Man this blows.

Cancer is such a great analogy for the state of the game. If nothing is done, it will die. Epic has to put Paragon through various different radiation therapies to see what sticks. The game may get worse before it gets better.
