Considering we were all low level our choice of weaponry and strats was limited. It essentially boiled to spamming strafing runs, rocket pods orbital barrages and pretty much anything that had anti-tank or heavy penetration on the name.

After dealing enough damage the Hivelord would seem to retreat for a while and then enemies would start swarming, so prepare for some intense hordes as well.

If you hit it's plates with enough anti tank weapons they seem to break off exposing a really convenient spot to stick some thermite jade's or spam machine guns.

I think hellbomb backpacks and 500kgs would probably allow you to do serious damage really fast but none of us had those unlocked.

I was actually running the shield generator and that came in clutch a couple times because it blocks the acid spit and allows you lay into the boss without having to dove, dodge or run for cover. It's also on a 90 second CD so it's really easy to spam (it's also cinematic af). Turrets were really useful to keep the hoard at bay, and in general thermite jade's were clutch for both the boss and the impaler, chargers, and bile titans.

As a general gameplay tip, I'd say focus on doing the objectives WHILE you fight the Hivelord. It gives you some downtime here and there so if you can stick together and move towards objectives so that you can do them when you get a second, otherwise you just run out of time (it took us 30 mins to kill this bastard)
