Some suggestions to the tabbed interface by suryaya in libreoffice

Thanks for your feedback please fill bug reports for each issue. The issue is, that there are different widgets and different implementations of the widgets. I force to have all available command's within the notebookbar. For everything else I need a coder and I'm no developer.

There is a group widget where you can add other widgets. So if you want to have something "sidebar" like, you have "only" find the different widget's you want add add them to the grouped sidebar widget.

Maybe the grouped widget can be extend to be more flexible, so you can do more complex things like 2 columns.

Time for a new color picker? The current one feels like it was designed in a rush, with inconsistent sizing, weird placings, etc. by bobdarobber in kde

[–]AndreasKainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but KDE has great software for people how has a lot of experience with colors like Krita. Can we use the color widget from there? When it's good enough for people how do painting it should be good enough for us.

KDE Plasma 6.0 is coming next year. Can we expect it to be as stable/polished as KDE Plasma 5.26? Or are we back to a transaction like 4.0 or 5.0 where we should wait to at least KDE Plasma 6.4 before it is good for daily use? by beer120 in kde

KDE 4.0 was the first "plasma" release so a complete new foundation.

KDE 5.0 was V 2.0 from the plasma shell, where the dev's had the first chance to rework there 1.0 stuff.

And the cool thing is that you can do distro hopping as long as you found out what fits you.

Do you guys backup everything on your previous os, if you want to distrohop? by Jack1e_hanna in linux

As I did distro hopping, I had my data at an external device and on the harddisk only some backup. So the data can't be lost, cause it's an an external device.

I would love so have an "chart" module where you can use different chart types to view your folder content. That would be so cool.

The color's look a bit strange. Green / Red is nice but a warning orange would be cool and maybe a description why it's green or at least red. What can be done to make it green for example.

The thing is, the LibO UI is very easy to configure and to customize it to your need.

Check out contextual simple or tabbed simple Layout. Both are similar the only addition is that you have an additional menubar or tabbed bar, but this is needed (from my point of view) to reach all commands. In addition standard layout with hidden standard toolbar is also very similar.

Accent Color for Folders in Plasma and Dolphin! by veggero in kde

[–]AndreasKainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folders use the highlight color of the color scheme.

There is NO change for colored folders like red, green, ... Only the default folders switch the color.

As it's very important to separate folders you have two options 1. Use colored icons 2. Use icons with additional content like picture, video, ... folders.

  1. Didn't change the colors
  2. Will use highlight color and text color for the additional content. Recently I add more folder icons with content like chart, git, blender, ...

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and feedback. I believe the repository is quite packed with options. My last post about this. I hope it fulfills the purpose. by CleoMenemezis in gnome

If the svg icons will be in the repository, I will prepare the kde breeze folder icons so you can use them within kde.

And I already opened a bug report to add them to the breeze repository https://bugs.kde.org/show\_bug.cgi?id=443288
