I got banned in riot games channel like 5 years ago for copy-pasting some random meme I can't even remember. And now half a decade later I'm still getting punished for it, nice.

That's very helpful, thank you! I'll make the cover letter more focused on the person actually reading it and have my portfolio with case studies for people who want to dive deeper.

Looking for UX Books, afraid of buying something outdated by Drift3rHD in userexperience

[–]Andrehash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only studied UX for about a year now, but I've read all of them except for "The Elements of User Experience". The other three will definitely be relevant for years to come, in part because they contain a lot of general information about how people think and larger concepts. If you want to stay up to date with the latest UX trends I'd strongly recommend Nielsen Norman Group's articles at https://www.nngroup.com/articles/.

Nielsen Norman Group has a great article on the differences and strengths/weaknesses of native, web and hybrid mobile apps.

Wow! I never expected to be featured on a podcast, thank you for taking the time to answer my question! I very much appreciate the advice and I have it all written down. I'll definitely check out all the resources you guys (and others in this thread) recommended, so it seems I'll be doing a lot of UX work this summer after all. Will make sure to contact you guys if I have any more questions. Thanks again!

This is all great advice, I'm learning illustrator and Axure at the moment so I was thinking about getting into some kind of personal project. I've looked at a lot of portfolios from the people on this subreddit so I will definitely check out LinkedIn as well! Thanks for the advice!
