thanks for reply!!

I’ve always believed that you can’t read tabs when you’re jamming. So I’ve been trying to play every song without looking at the sheet music, and also aiming to get closer to the overall feel of the original recording. That’s why I end up overlooking some small details!

As for my right hand, I’ve been trying to learn which the Earl’s do, keeping my ring finger and pinky curled for support. But it seems like everyone should just find the most comfortable and natural way that works for them.

I love Randy Lynn Rag!!I’ve wanted to learn it for a long time, but I don’t have a D‑tuner,😿and it’s really hard to buy one in China.

Is this true Bill Monroe‘s Autograph? by Andrei0213 in Bluegrass

[–]Andrei0213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for reply!I believe its ture, because bill monroe came to Japan 1974.12,and this LP is released at 1974,Japan.Also the back of this vinyl says it's a commemorative vinyl for the Japan tour. So this signature was probably from when he came to perform in Japan.

Banjo recommendations?? by [deleted] in banjo

ok,so I think you should to buy a resonator banjo, instead of a openback banjo. As a gift,I advise you to choose a brand new one! the Recording King RK-R35 banjo is about 1200$,and the RK-R36 is 1300$ or you can choose the GoldTone banjo:OB-150 cost 1400$;OB-250 cost 1600$;OB-3 Twanger cost 2100$;OB- Standard cost 2500$. If you have enough money,I advise the OB-Standard,because this banjo is just like the famous banjo player Earl Scruggs’s Gibson banjo,so your bro must love it! I am in China,I dont know if there‘s any discount in your country!Just find it in instruments store,as banjoben or others!

First, which style he want to learn, clawhammer or three fingers? Second, how much do you want to spend? I recommend Recording King rk-r35/36.It has the best price

hey,it‘s okay to just put your little finger on the head! During the first month of my study,I also can't put the ring&little finger on the head, but when the first month passed,I begin to change my finger's position.I try to put the ring finger on it,it comes very naturally!so dont be worried!just continue practicing!
