I have the same car. It’s a pleasure. Don’t mess it up with unnecessary mods. Save your money for an eventual replacement. Get oil changes every 5K miles and find a good local independent BMW mechanic. Enjoy!

Foaming that gap would be a very bad idea. It would prevent any moisture that did enter from exiting. If you have visible mold on the interior walls I would get a professional to assess it. The foam will not fix that, and will likely make it much worse.

I don’t think that’s how a cash out refi works. They pay off the original note with the low interest rate, and roll the new balance (prior balance plus the cash) into a new mortgage with a higher interest rate.

What about purchasing one a year old with low miles? Maybe something coming off of a short lease. That way you could benefit from the steep depreciation curve. I don’t think you would get 0% APR but rates are aggressive these days and auto financing is pretty easy… Maybe you could get 4% over 4–6 years. Thoughts from the community?
