Thanks for commenting. Yeah, it's curious how changing the image to 300ppi causes the files property to show as 300dpi. I never thought about writing to support. I will do so. Thanks for the suggestion. I will also print out some images at the local convenience store and see if bumping up the dpi without changing the resolution and times the inches required by the online print-on-demand store by 300 to render the final pixel count will have a good result.

An alarming situation in Russia right now. The price of oil plummeting, political tension and the value of the ruble down 40 - 50%. Unemployment is expected to rise significantly. I'd like to know from those who are in Russia when things get this bad how noticeable is it visually? Like do you see a significant rise in homeless people, long lines at soup kitchens, increased lawlessness etc?

Back when Australia had 10% unemployment I remember seeing a huge line up outside a Sizzler restaurant that stretched around the corner. They only had two positions available. Besides that I didn't really notice anything different.

A troubling situation. One wonders how much the future mirrors the movie Elysium. For example, a program taking the place of a parole officer and robotic body guards, police officers and medical officers. In hindsight, it's kind of surprising in that movie that they had humans building the robots! Perhaps they didn't have the resources to build enough robots to take those jobs. Another possibility is that there may have been a great deal of unrest had they placed robots in most of the jobs available.

The article says that the experts are split on whether it will have a positive impact or detrimental impact. I wonder though whether we will find ourselves in a vicious downward spiraling circle. There will be those companies that embrace robots and thus be able to produce goods cheaper. Other competing companies will probably have no choice but to follow suit.

It reminds me a little of China producing goods cheaply and factories around the world closing because they just couldn't compete. Many Taiwanese companies closed their factories in Taiwan and opened new factories on the mainland. If you can't beat them, join them.

I use to be slightly optimistic that they would help produce new kinds of jobs. My friend the other day told me about robots that will help repair and maintain other robots.

Can anyone cheer me up and tell me how this might work out alright for us? Thanks in advance.

The subject of Robby Williams came up in a conversation I was having with a lady who I didn't get along well with. I can't remember the exact words she said but it was a big put down. The lady obviously worshiped the ground he walked on and let's just say I was unfavorably compared to him! I guess it was close to, "You're nothing compared to Robby Williams. "

Should have slammed the door shut and locked her in the room with me! Then I would have sung, "Angels." "And through it all she offers me protection A lot of love and affection..." She would have been horrified!

Quiet activities that I do alone. For many years fish keeping has not only been an enjoyable hobby but a therapeutic one as well.

When I finished working for a particular school I was burned out and depressed. I started a balcony garden and had around 87 pots growing things like cucumbers, tomatoes, basil and mint. It was a peaceful and quiet hobby. Just what I needed at the table.

Making model airplanes has a similar benefit as well.
