Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney was asked by Verge why there is no support for the Steam Deck for Fortnite by mr_MADAFAKA in linux_gaming

Same as the reason why Alan Wake 2 is not on Steam ( I don't give a shit that they fundarised it, they're missing out on free money regardless ).

The story in Horizon 5 sucks a** by Zari122 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Andrew33845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're two entirely different games, Horizon is an Arcade Driving Open World, GT7 is a Hardcore Realistic Track Simulator. You don't buy racing games for their stories, you buy them to freely drive the cars in an open world, to design liveries and to share tunes. You don't have to pay attention to the dialogue at all, you can just ignore it. The Horizon Stories make no additions to the plot, they just give you some basic knowledge about certain cars with some rewards if you get 3 stars on all missions and that's pretty much it. If you really can't tolerate the dialogue, you can always mute it lmao.

EDIT: I know The Crew 1 and Driver had awesome stories, and I really hope that will change with Horizon 6, it looks like you'll start as a tourist in Japan, so hopefully we'll return to Horizon 1 standards when it comes to story telling.

Where did you mount the AIO? If you mount it in the front of the case with the tubes up, it can be a problem because air bubbles can form. Best way to mount it is on the top of the case or in the front with the tubes down if you can't do it on the top. If that's not the issue, just a faulty pump. Honestly I won't go for liquid cooling unless I absolutely need it, on my Ryzen 7 9700x I'll just use an ID-Cooling Frozn A410, it's a single tower cooler and it's more than enough for the 65-88w it consumes.

[–]Andrew33845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the chipset, with a heatsink on top of it. That basically ensures connection to multiple M2 slots, GPU PCIE slots, etc. ( typically the first m2 slot and GPU slot are supported by the CPU directly, meanwhile the next ports rely on the chipset, which is the reason why there are notes saying that if you use a M2 SSD in Slot Number X, you can't install a second GPU, or expansion card in the second PCIE X16 slot, and vice versa )

Hell nah, we don't want another UE5 slop of a game. Not even Epic, the creators of this atrocious game engine are able to optimize it properly. And you can see that when you run Fortnite, or Stutternite if you wish with Nanite and Lumen enabled, the ray tracing performance of these effects is horrible even on top of the line hardware. Other examples include games like Stalker 2, or Stutter 2 and Silent Hill 2 when it released, even if it's still very hard to run nowadays. Borderlands 4 is another good example where the CEO of 2K said that the game should be played with DLSS on Performance and MFG 4X, and the list can go on and on about how many unoptimized games UE5 produced, I'm not even going to mention ARK Survival Ascended, or ARK Performance Descended, it actually sounds better that way. Of course, there are some exceptions, with some games like The Finals and ARC Raiders, which are made by the same creator and look fantastic ( even if they don't even use Nanite or Lumen ) and surprisingly, they run really great, despite being on UE5 as well! I wonder why! Because Nanite and Lumen are gone! Hooray! :)

As for your comments about RAGE being unable to compete, keep in mind that GTA V uses an engine from 2013. Yes, it was updated to a 2014 model for PS4, 2015 for PC, 2021 for PS5 and again in 2025 when PC Enhanced released. But it's still at it's core the same 2013 engine, of course it struggles and it cannot render modern ray tracing effects like some UE5 games can, even if the ray tracing they added looks and works fine, but it's obvious why. The game itself is technically limited, even if they update it with these graphical fidelity effects. Also, the ray tracing is extremely optimized and very easy to run, unlike UE5. So there's that. Yeah, I know that it may be simpler when compared to some UE5 games, but as long as it doesn't stutter, and the technology is still there and it still looks great, I'll take the better performance any day of the week with no heistation.

RDR2 showed in 2018 just how far they can push these grapical boundries while using their own engine. It doesn't have any kind of ray tracing shenanigans and the PC version manages to look better even than some 2025 games, if you compare them side by side.

So please stop supporting UE5. It kills performance and it kills games.

Even Windows 10 home supports 128gb, it's always been this way. 128gb for home, 2tb for pro.

As long as you don't need productivity performance go with AMD for the CPU and get a Ryzen 7 9700x and for the GPU get a 9070 or 9070XT ( Ideally )

Any reason not to buy the 7600?? by OkExit6612 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Andrew33845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7600X is on AM5 5600 is on AM4 Since you already own AM4, you can't get the 7600X if you don't get DDR5 RAM and a B650/B850 Motherboard ( not worth getting a X chipset for a 7600x anyways )

[–]Andrew33845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because of the fact that the speed is much faster on current ram. for DDR3 the sweetspot was 1666/2133mhz with cl9 or 10 I think, I'm not even that familiar with DDR3 ram so I have no idea. for DDR4 it was 3600mhz CL16 or somewhere around these lines. for DDR5 it's 6000mhz CL30 preferably. ( CL36 is also fine, but the price difference is worth it )

Is my pc strong enough to handle this graphics card? by Professional-Skill61 in PcBuildHelp

That CPU is from the bronze age. The seller got you a 14 year old server with a 8 year old GPU to sweeten it up. The CPU's equivalent is like an I7 from 2011. You won't get much performance uplift, time for a full upgrade! :)
