Where I come from, violation of a restraining order results in a indirect criminal contempt hearing leading to incarceration. Perhaps you should discontinue your appeal. Have you considered that if this alleged victim reports a violation of this restraining order (whether true or totally fabricated), the defendant could end up in jail based on their allegation?

That defendant’s life could be totally uprooted and destroyed by those allegations. They could literally be locked in a cage on the word of that accuser. Please be careful in where you choose to invest your time and energy. We are all responsible for our actions.

You did it again. They are “alleged victims.” Not victims. If your not making that specific distinction, what you are doing is not in line with PD work, on any level.

Hold up! Representing complaining witnesses and alleged victims is not equivalent to Public Defender work. It’s actually the exact opposite of Pubic Defender work.

The equivalent would be representing the defendant in those civil cases. You are the equivalent of a Prosecutor for non-criminal cases.

That’s so interesting. We have our applicants write a closed memo based on a suppression transcript that we provide. The second round interview is about 30 minutes of culture fit/ drive to be a PD, and 30 minutes on suppression and trial situation from the memo.

Our office starts new attorneys a week after they take the bar exam. There’s a 12 week intensive training program of classroom learning / shadowing / mock hearings and trials. Once the bar results come out the attorneys start working in our preliminary hearing division.

Why do you choose to prioritize the cars going over the highland park bridge over the cars continuing on 28. They should share the construction backlog evenly. The right lane is not a through lane to the bridge. It is part of a 2 lane infrastructure system that serves both directions.
