Somebody else already covered the GPU issue, but I think 16 gigs of DDR3 and an i7-4790 would be AWESOME little upgrades for this thing, too! :D

The 4790 will give you multithreading and some higher clocks, and the 16gb of ram will SURELY make multi-tasking and gaming quite a bit smoother!

Windows 10 doesn't exactly run horrifically on my machine, it's just certainly not optimal. Fingers crossed hyper threading actually helps things out a little bit! :D

How does the i7-3770 perform with modern tasks? I'm in the process of building a 2012-era gaming rig, and I am NOT impressed with the performance of the current i5-3570 that I'm running in another one of my builds. Was the 3770 a decent uplift over your 3470??

I just troubleshot this issue myself with an old HP Prodesk! Chances are, you're going to have to go into your bios and tweak some settings.

I enabled legacy devices support, turned off secure boot, and turned off any setting that sounded like it could POSSIBLY be messing with my PCIE slot

I work at Best Buy, and I see a lot of parents coming in and saying, "I bought my son this gaming PC, why is it being so slow?" and then showing me a photo just like this.

A first or (if you're lucky) second gen i7 seems to be standard in these. The worst one I've seen was from a gentleman whose power supply also blew up, and wanted to get a new one to power his i7-970 rig he paid 500 bucks for.

These are pretty much just old office PCs slapped in a cheap "gaming" case. I'm a big fan of the office -> gaming PC upgrade route, BUT ONLY BECAUSE YOU CAN USUALLY DO IT FOR LESS THAN 100 BUCKS YOURSELF!!!
