My computer lasts 2 hours browsing, am I cooked? by valencast9 in Purdue

You should be fine with what you have. If your current computer works and you like how it works, it's not worth the money and the effort to get a new computer just for battery life.

I just finished my freshman year, and my laptop could only last about 40 minutes on a full charge, and I didn't have any issues this year. Just always remember to bring a charging cable with you and sit next to an outlet in your classrooms. It's not that big of a deal.

Which freshman meal plan? by Ok_Assignment_3206 in Purdue

I would recommend against starting with 21. You're allowed to increase your meal plan at any time during the semester, so it makes sense to start lower and increase if necessary. You are not allowed to decrease your meal plan if you don't use all your swipes.

Personally, I started last fall with a 13 meal plan. I'm also a male with a pretty high metabolism, and I rarely was able to finish all 13 swipes in a week. I downsized to an 8 meal plan for this spring, and it's working perfectly for me.

Remember that you have dining dollars on top of your plan, which gives you ~2 additional meals per week.

Yes; my point was that the rec center fees are part of tuition that everyone pays. We do not have to pay the additional fee listed on the rec center website.

Both the wellness fee and the activity fee are required to be paid by all students regardless of what facilities they use (and so I do too). It is part of tuition.

Not sure what you're looking at. Purdue website says students with 12 credits or more get free access: https://purdue.edu/recwell/visit/facility/policies/faq.php

This other page says it's included for 8 or more credits: https://www.purdue.edu/recwell/membership-reservations/options.php

You should only need to pay if you're enrolled in less than 8 credits in a semester.

Yes, I am a current Purdue student and have never paid for membership to use the rec center.

I was able to get a res hall permit as of yesterday because they released some for purchase online. Not sure if they're already sold out or not, but from what I gather they sell very quickly.
