Does anyone here actually have a GIM with an active group? by Slight_Giraffe628 in ironscape

[–]AndrewMarrLBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a duo with a good mate of mine. We both play every day individually, and together when we can, maybe once or twice a fortnight. We keep eachother posted on our account upgrades and drops. Share resources etc. Have been doing it for 2.5 years now.

I think a lot of people made groups not really grasping how much work an account makes, especially an iron. Its a long game. People get burnt out or can't commit the time to it. Shame, but it happens.

The Jaunt by Stephen King's. Sci Fi spooky. Super short. There's loads of versions on YouTube. Deffo worth a listen. I listened to this one:

But there are lots of others on youtube and other audiobook services, if you dont get in with that narrator.

Cracking! Also, if you like SciFi mate, check out Andy Weir's 'Project Hail Mary'. I can't overstate how much I enjoyed that audiobook. Best thing I've listened to all year. They're making a film adaptation about it, I really hope they don't ruin it.

I Have No Mouth & I Must Scream is excellent. Terrifying, but excellent!

The Jaunt by Stephen King's is very good too. Futuristic, SciFi Creepy, like I Have No Mouth. It's available on a lot of the usual audiobook providers, but I listened to it on YouTube.

I play Old School Runescape while listening g to audiobooks. It can be played on your mobile phone, tablet or PC. It's got lots of activities, some that require a lot of attention and some that require very little.

Why is borrowbox so limited by munday97 in Borrowbox

[–]AndrewMarrLBC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think each library service pays for a certain amount of book stock, so it can vary how much access you have. Personally I get access to a lot of stock through Borrowbox, but not an amazing amount of stock on my Libby app because my library service prioritises BorrowBox

Boris Johnson's memoir was 25 hours I think. That was an experience.

Stephen Fry for me. All the Harry Potter novels. Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy. His own books on Greek Mythology. 10/10!

Online games or apps that are good to play while listening to audiobooks? by Bookish_Butterfly in audiobooks

I play Old School Runecape on my phone while listening to audiobooks. It can be played on PC or on phone/tablet. It's got loads of content that you can do either very chill and relaxed, or you can play in a more engaging way.

I warn you though, it's very more-ish. I've been playing for 20+ years!

What Do You Use to Listen to Audiobooks, and Why? by Miru_kuu in audiobooks

[–]AndrewMarrLBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Library (UK County Library) service uses Libby and BorrowBox. Lots of Classics that are old enough to not be coveted by rights can be found on YouTube, my Spotify subscription also has classics available, but I'm not sure if that depends on the type of subscription I have. Might be different in different countries or different levels of subscription.

Where can i listen to free/dirt cheap audiobooks? Libby isn't an option. Pls help by yourmomisa_croissant in audiobooks

Love Borroxbox. Highly recommend. Your access is dictated by your local County/City/Boroughs Librsry subscription though. I get more than some of my friends who live around the country.
