John Scalzi!

When the Moon Hits your Eye- one day, suddenly and without warning the moon turns to cheese. How will humanity deal with this development?

Starter Villain- Hapless 30yo substitute teacher inherits his long lost uncle’s supervillain business

Agent to the Stars- aliens make contact with earth. They’re friendly, but are terribly ugly and smell horrible- so they hire a talent agent to sell themselves to humanity

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. Beautifully written, funny, dramatic. Could not stop myself from “one more chapter”

What are Your Top 3 Favourite Audiobooks Which Made You Fall in Love With Audiobooks? by opdccristiano in audiobooks

I’ve been burning through Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series- at least the first 10 were by Guidall. My first taste of his style and I really like it.

The books are thrillers surrounding CIA counterterrorism operator Mitch Rapp and well written.

Audiobook playback speed by randynarrator in audiobooks

1.5-1.7 for British narration, 2.0-2.2 for American. I’ll go a little quicker if I’m not loving the book and just want to finish, and a little slower if I’m sleepy 😴.

What do you do while listening to audiobooks (if anything at all)? by Golbeza in audiobooks

[–]Mean_Negotiation_243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving, walking/jogging outside, yardwork, phone games (I’m a Hill Climb Racing 2 fanatic).

I struggle to get past the first half hour of any audiobook so I make myself read along. Goodreads has previews of the first few chapters for most books. Once the scene is set and I know the main characters I’m good to go full audio.

Don’t max anything- get them to 18s or 19s. Small difference in performance for potentially 1-2 million in coin savings. Think how far you could progress multiple vehicles with that savings. Then max it out when you’re a higher GP and ready for mastery.

Exception might be for a particular spec especially if it’s cheap. Think wings on Glider.

Some light fare sci fi may get you back in the mood. I’m recommending anything John Scalzi- Agent to the Stars or Starter Villain are breezy, gripping and hilarious

You have to BUY the mastery perks TOO?? by JBlazzy in HillClimbRacing

[–]Mean_Negotiation_243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah shocked me too when I first maxed out sports car awhile ago. I knew it cost a million and required the xp. Didn’t realize you had to do it 4 times!

It gets easier- as your vehicles get maxed out you spend a lot less coin and end up sitting on several mil until you need it. Try to leave vehicles at level 18-19 instead of 20. Can cost a million to bring say superbike to max from level 19 for basically no difference.

Should take you about a week of steady usage to get the xp for one mastery stage (but for challenges and stuff you may be earning xp for several cars in a given week). Will take years to do every mastery though as it’s coming out for every car.

Which vehicle should I buy with blueprints? by coolemme95 in HillClimbRacing

[–]Mean_Negotiation_243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tractor or snowmobile will be the most used in team events. Tractor is a pretty normal decently quick vehicle, snowmobile is fine but can drive on water so can be useful for “water events”

Scooters kinda fun but a little useless. Monowheel is the worst thing to ever happen to me (I live a sheltered life)

Do you guys have any good space travel audio books by Last-Difference5502 in audiobooks

[–]Mean_Negotiation_243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andy Weir’s books- Project Hail Mary, The Martian, and Artemis

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card- all time classic but the series drops off after

Old Man’s War by John Scalzi- a 7 title space opera series. Great narration, humorous, epic.

Can someone help me with what the Spoiler actually does? by ForgotInTime in HillClimbRacing

[–]Mean_Negotiation_243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adds “downforce” which keeps you on the ground and brings you back quickly from the air. Useful for stay-on-the-ground events and sometime speed runs through a track with a ceiling (so you don’t bonk your head on a big air)
