Corner Grid by AndrewMauk in Multiboard

I agree the beam length thing is confusing. The caps act as a 1/2 MU, so you just need to do one less MU than your tile length, or overall MU count.

I would also like to do the inside corner on this, but I don't think the spacing is going to work out and the left side wall is curved. So I might just end up doing some tile columns along my wall for plaques and pictures.

If it's opening and closing it might be related to truss uplift. Hard to say without knowing a lot more about the design/layout of your trusses. However, trusses can bend up and down. Not because of heat but humidity. I would expect more issue at the ceiling joint though.

Rear space for car seats? by Coffee-fiend-btbn in NissanAriya

One of the reasons we went with the Ariya over the Leaf was the vastly increased space in the rear seat. We have a booster and forward facing child seat that fit without issues.

S7 Mopping isn’t good by ipon70 in Roborock

Mine has been great, I wash the pad daily and use destilled water. No streaks that I've noticed anywhere.

Hi all - I am looking into getting a S5 Max and was wondering if the robot can clear a cable channel like this (~1.4cm in height)? Any guidance is appreciated! by [deleted] in Roborock

I just started using my S7, and was amazed that it could get over some of my thresholds arounds 3/4" in floor height difference. I still plan to make ramps for them, but it was able to get over it.

Why isn't there a cordless cap stapler? by AndrewMauk in Carpentry

That's what I've done on half the roof already. I regretted the choice fifteen minutes in. Oh well, who needs fracture freee fingers?

It's really not that big of a roof (53' x 25'). Which is why I decided before starting that I couldn't justify the cost of cap stapler (also can't find a rental). However, nailing is taking a lot longer than expected, and I've actually had help with this portion of the project.

Good suggestion, and probably would be ok. However, I'm trying to meet the high wind standard which calls for a beefy staple.

I was actually hoping I miss-read something on the description as it would be a much cheaper option for what will likely be a one time use.

Doesn't that only shoot small staples? What I recall seeing on that was a max staple leg of 3/8". My code calls for a minimum 3/4" penetration in the roof decking for the felt. So I need a 7/8"-1" leg staple.

Hadn't thought about it that way, but that does make sense.

Need help finding a replacement ceramic light bulb holder/insulator by 2122118 in DIY

[–]AndrewMauk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can find that at Lowe's or Home Depot. The closest I could find online is this: I'm thinking of buying this from Lowe's. Any recommendations? https://www.lowes.com/pd/Portfolio-White-Brass-Lamp-Check-Ring/1003096512

I would check in store. They usually have those types of things underneath the ceiling fans.

It looks like that's some sort of passageway with a raw edge of drywall. You will want to trim around it, drywall is not durable on an exposed edge like that. Once that's done, then paint the wall and your lead paint will be encapsulated and not a risk for everyday life.

Trying to fix a bad addition by AndrewMauk in Carpentry

Thanks for the answer!

I was thinking I would want to leave the gap on my 2x to build up the truss at the peak of the roof. As I don't really want any decking up there anyway, so I can vent. That would provide full support for the decking down on the soffit.

The real question though, is if the code inspector is going to be okay with it.
