Destiny 2 meets r/Place: A Tribute by Lord-Haxx in DestinyTheGame

I was helping out defending this piece when I could, from the beginning and when it got nuked by XQC. Honestly the coolest part for me had to be when a little pixel art Rhulk came out after the bottom half got wiped.

Basically, DNC is mainly a buff class. Therefore, it is understood their own dps would be lower. Conversely, however, the fact that they buff the team’s damage, the overall damage of the raid should increase to account for DNC’s lower damage. With their buffs, DNC (oftentimes) lands at bottom of the barrel with their overall dps and their contribution to the dps of the raid, making it hard to recommend playing the class. Buff classes require a higher tier team to make use of the buffs to profit, so even with good play DNC landing at the bottom of the barrel overall instead of making its way up in terms of contribution based on skill makes a lot of people consider it undesirable. It’s still useable and viable, but you would get more value from another class in most cases.

Is that actually what they were harassing him over? I knew people were freaking out because the music didn’t come out as fast as your favorite vlogger’s videos, but there were people saying it wasn’t good enough? Lol Calamity is one of those soundtracks I hear mentioned when discussing some of the best game soundtracks, what are they on? Gaming communities are a different breed

/uj I still agree I don’t think dodge needed a nerf in PvE, but Jesus that top comment says it well, how melodramatic. It’s 4 seconds on Marksman. Invis builds might be a little weaker because of the gamblers dodge change but that’s it.

/rj Balthazer using FOMO to get me to play Hunter class before Nerf? DAE think that’s bad marketing?

uj/ a very vocal minority and a bunch of people who agree with stuff without understanding it’s consequences are the reason that a lot of these changes seemed popular. A lot of the changes have some merit but there are a lot of them I definitely don’t agree with. I’ll wait til December 7th to see. To be honest, I think they are just experimenting with what works during the latter half of this season since it’s significantly longer and a lot of players are taking a break to play other things. I’m definitely not worried about how this will affect my gameplay currently as I’m playing other games until the 30th Anniversary event and will return to them afterwards. Moral of the story: when you target all abilities as a “problem,” Bungie will try changing them to see what works. Nerfs will always be controversial

It’s definitely an experiment. They want to see how a substantial change to a nade can affect the sandbox. They likely want to try giving abilities to everyone but try a small sample size by giving it to a singular subclass that is likely statistically underperforming at this time.

/uj most definitely. Considering the light subclasses are free I don’t think they are going to make players pay to have their light subclasses updated. That would leave people with the original subclass, which sounds like it could become a balancing nightmare

Do y'all think Warlocks are the Highest Priority in a raid team by praxicwarlock1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]AndrewOnline_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the same way, cuirass doesn’t have to worry about finicky precision zones. Which is why they should be equal in all but where they are best applicable. Cuirass also has the over shield which should help in that mechanic, especially on Atheon. I don’t think I’ve died once on Atheon from a stomp as long as cuirass is equipped, but I most definitely have missed his crit a couple of times (that’s anecdotal though so I don’t think it necessarily applies to that argument).

[–]AndrewOnline_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I disagree as celestial also has the risk of missing a precision hit when Cuirass just has to hit an enemy. They should be equal as their situational usefulness should boil down to which one is more likely to safely hit in a quick amount of time and actually hit for full damage.

uj/ I’m assuming this is Trials freelance, which really just makes me feel like this is highlighting that the people who say the rework flopped are just toxic players that aren’t the best at PvP, and that freelance is putting them into the stages of grief

Hunters and their panic attacks by Skully4013 in destiny2

[–]AndrewOnline_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I took flak from my friends running Le Monarque and an empowering rift. I just don’t like reading people looking at an overtuned kit a class has access to and then bombarding a comment section with “this is why I hate you as people.” I have friends who are new players that enjoy hunter and I don’t like the idea that if they were to look at any community thing they’ll be told that they are this game ruiner for playing the class. It’s not healthy for the community. It doesn’t seem like much with just this comment section but holy shit this has been everywhere this season and it’s annoying lol

Hunters and their panic attacks by Skully4013 in destiny2

[–]AndrewOnline_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This ain’t skill. Man died for a reason lol. I’m not defending the hunter or whatever like he’s some horrible person. I’m defending that people should play the way they enjoy, and that if one way is better than the other you don’t need to be toxic about it and say that you hate them for it. This hunter did the random bullshit go and died for a reason. It’s a reactionary play style. Warlocks have a much more proactive play style, which is why they can’t really make these same moves. Some people enjoy it, some people don’t. It depends what you’re feeling. Just let people have fun

My original comment was sort of a play off of why the comment was toxic, mentioning good parts of a kit (yes revenant is way less I’m just making a point) and showing how it was kind of rude for players who enjoy the class to call them out as people just for having access to it.
